Default Photos from early January trip

Wordy trip reports just aren't my thing, so without further ado, here are some photos from the first two weeks of January. We did get to catch the end of the Christmas decorations and one week without.

    Disney photos here

Best viewed in original size by clicking on magnyfing glass below photo or in slide show.

Also did Universal/IOA this trip and will post some photos later.

nice... I have a t3i that i am only just beginning to explore all the setting. I couldn't get the nighttime shots of the fireworks or fantasmic to turn out as crisp as yours.

Try shooting at "shutter priority" and set it to 1/60 or 1/80 with a high ISO.
If you shoot on "auto" or "aperture priority" the camera will set the shutter speed too slow and you'll get blurring.
You still have to shoot many to get a few decent ones.

Were you using a tripod or something to keep the camera so steady? or is that shutter speed fast enough to not warrant a tripod

I was following a DPI (disney photo imaging) cheat sheet saying ISO 800.... I am guessing you are talking even higher ISO.

No tripod and I was using the slow 75-300mm zoom lens. I think I was at ISO 1600 for these, but you can go as slow as 400 and still do ok. Remember, it's not just camera shake you have to worry about, more problems are caused by subject movement.

yeah i actually have that lens so good! Thats why i am impressed with your sorcerer mickey shots from fantasmic... he was so quick in actions yet you got a great shot in a dark situation.

Very nice pics Dave! You got some great shots.

I love catching the George/Robin billboard when the hidden Mickeys are there. So funny!
