WL: Which room?
We will be staying at the WL for the first time. Where should we request our room to be? Any tips / help about this hotel would be appreciated!

I'd ask for an upper room floor facing the Magic Kingdom. You'll get mostly trees, but you can see the top of the castle, the Contemporary and the fireworks.

The courtyard view can get quite noisy - especially in the mornings. We started getting a woods view which has been great.

Try not to get a room that opens out to the lobby. While a great view of the lobby it gets quite loud especially from the Whispering Canyon restaurant

DO eat at Whispering Canyon, if you haven't already. And make sure to ask for ketchup....

We just got back from WL and had a room that opened out to the lobby. While there were times we could hear WCC, it was never so loud that it was bothersome. Actually the first time I heard it I couldn't quite make out what the noise was or where it was coming from until I opened the door. We weren't bothered at all by WCC.
We have stayed all over the resort, courtyard view, woods view, and this time a standard view with the "lobby" room and this was by far our favorite location. We love the little sitting areas above the lobby on the 4th and 5th floors and it was great to walk out our room and be just a few steps from those locations. We also were able to take the stairs over the entrance doors and get into the lobby much quicker than taking the elevator. We really loved this location! It was great to walk out of our room into that amazing lobby each morning. And with our boys getting older we felt comfortable letting them go sit by the 4th or 5th floor fireplace while we were in the room. We'd just prop the door open and they would go read or just sit and enjoy that little area. I would have never done that had our room been way out by the courtyard or woods view.

Woods view...view of the woods. The upper floors on the MK facing side can get you a great view of the castle and the fireworks.
Lobby view...overlooks the lobby. Can get a little noisy with the WCC, but usually calms down around 10 and is great for people watching. Courtyard view...overlooks pool area and Bay Lake and is probably my fave of all the others as we enjoy a little down time on our balcony with an occasional adult beverage. Regardless of which one we're in...I LOVE THEM ALL! But my really fave place @ WL is on the dock @ sunrise with my AM coffee. Truly, a most tranquil and beautiful start to an otherwise wonderfully hectic day!
