    Default Free wi-fi at deluxes.

Has anyone experienced this long over due feature?
We did a couple of weeks ago at the Polynesian.
Easy to hook up, but the speed leaves much to be desired.
We constantly got speeds of anywhere from 11 to 36.
There were times when the i-pad could barely get a signal.
It seems like they need more access points.

It's also supposed to be at Coronado Springs, which makes sense as it's the Conference Center. We'll be there in a few days. Looking forward to trying it out.

I thought it was supposed to go back to pay to play in October, no? Or did they go to a tiered access plan. connection is free, but speeds are throttled based on free vs pay.

We had free wi-fi last week at AKL. Some nights it worked better than others. One night it didn't work at all.

We had it at Wilderness Lodge. It was spotty and I couldn't really use it on the balcony. It was slow but it was FREE!

Used it at the BC during my stay. Had some initial problems connecting, called support and it all worked out.

    FREE INTERNET?
    BE CAREFUL FOR WHAT YOU WISH(ed) . . .

    1) The price changed (fee to free).
    2) But, the service has not changed.
    3) Thus,
. . . the throughput remains the same
. . . the more users, the slower it gets
. . . if people "stream" the pace dies
    . . . and dies fast
    4) The system was not meant for streaming.
. . . it was originally built for light service
. . . such as email and searches
    . . . it wasn't even built for downloading
. . . it does not have the bandwidth
    5) So, since it is free,
. . . more people will now use Internet
. . . the more who use it, the slower it gets
. . . the more who use it, the more streaming
. . . the more streaming, even slower it gets
    6) People have already complained about the slow speed.
    7) But, people wanted free, so now have what the wanted.

I know it's a deluxe but I am surprised you can even get free wifi anywhere IN wdw.

Are they offering it at all of the resorts now??

Used it at both Poly and Boardwalk the last 11 days.... No issues at all. Always connected and even allowed me to upload 400 (rather large)pics a night to facebook in a decent amount of time (10mins)

Default Free Wi-Fi at Caribbean Beach

We're at CB tonight (12/22) and Wi-Fi is free for all devices. I was expecting to pay, so it's a wonderful Christmas present. I had to read the instruction card 3 times before the word "complementary" registered!

Thought I'd add that POR got free wifi sometime between the 9th and the 17th. Maybe it was building by building, but we were in building 34 and got a notice midweek that it was added. Worked pretty good, was better than me doing some sneaky tethering with my iphone and hoping not to get caught by my cell provider.

Anyone use wi-fi at Bay Lake Towers? I assume it is free there right now? DH needs to do some work while we are there so planning ahead.
    Thanks!

We used it at BLT when we were there in October. Worked fine speed-wise, although there were some sites (nothing bad) that were blocked.

We used this at the Beach Club a couple weeks ago. Speed was MORE than adequate. It was actually pretty good. I am not sure how fast people expect a hotel wifi connection to be. No issues with connectivity either, on any of our devices.

Ha... for us our wedding videographer posted our wedding trailer (of course out of all the times) and Disney blocked the video site. We were resigned to watching it on our 4" cellphone screen lol
