Default Hitting the Beach (Club)- Part Two

See Previous Report for Day One.

    Day Two:
After a lovely breakfast in the lounge, we were off to the Animal Kingdom for the morning/afternoon. Bus service from the Beach Club to the AK was pleasant, efficient, no complaints.

At the Animal Kingdom, we were able to do all of our favorites, with time to spare for redoing some before our 1:15 Yak and Yeti lunch. I love the Animal Kingdom. We enjoyed just walking around and soaking in the atmosphere. Lunch was good, not great, but good (more in the dining report).

After lunch, we headed back for a resort break in the afternoon, then on to Epcot for a late EMH. A few F & W stands (not many) actually stayed open until ten. We had some ribeye tacos and shrimp tacos in Mexico (really good) and another visit to Cava del Tequila (open til ten and completely empty during Illuminations). I tried the avocado margarita, which tasted like banana actually, and I did not like it. We rode Soarin' a few times (without fastpass! It was about a 10-15 minute wait) and Test Track a few times. By midnight, we were physically drained and grateful to leave by the International Gateway for a short walk to the Beach Club. Today, our appreciation for the Beach Club grew.

    Day Three:
We started the day at DHS, with Fastpass for Toy Story Mania (already up to 11:30 by 9:20 in the morning). We rode ToT and RnRC several times with not much wait. Great Movie Ride- finally got the Western scene! Wow, that fire is awesome. In all my years, have always had the gangster, never the gunslinger. That was fun. And though we planned to try the new Star Tours a few times, one ride made us both really queasy and we said never again. But it was very cool- big improvement there.

Afterwards, we had a relaxing afternoon at the resort and got ready for our Yachtsman Dinner. But... before dinner, we ran over to World Showcase and bought a painting we had our eyes on. We met the artist who designed this year's F & W logo and fell in love with her work. She had the perfect painting for our dining room. We almost resisted, due to cost, but decided we couldn't pass it up. So before our Yachtsman dinner, we rushed over and finalized the sale. Maryann Schmidt is the artist. She was a lovely person and we had a great time talking with her, and now her work will be with us and I will always remember her, and our trip. I can't wait to see it hanging. We won't actually have it until mid-November.

More on our Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner (not up to expectation) in my upcoming dining report. More on the Yacht/Beach Clubs in my upcoming trip and resort reports.

I've found that I've always regretted those times when I've come across something unique that I really like and do not get. Glad you decided to get the painting. I'm sure it's something you will enjoy for many years!

The sign said 20 minutes. My husband didn't believe it. He thought once we got in, it would be forty to sixty minutes. I timed it. Twelve minutes for the first ride. I thought EMH would draw big crowds. But maybe the monorail closing is really affecting crowds for later EMH, if the monorail is closing before the end of EMH. But also, it was a Halloween party night, so maybe the crowds were there.

I'm glad you decided to pull the trigger on the picture. I hate having those nagging regrets when I've talked myself out of something.

Yes, I was just looking at the receipt the other day and considering it. But then I looked at the big empty space where it will hang and went to her site to remind myself what it looks like, and I'm glad we went for it. It's an impressive piece, unique, lovely, suits our personalities, and reminds us of our favorite place and a wonderful trip. If we walked away, we would have eventually found something for the space, but nothing that suits us quite as well and I would probably always look and think what could have been there instead. No regrets.
