    Default Our First Family Trip - September 26 - October 3, 2011 - Day 1 - Arrival Day

Well this will be my very first ever trip report. I made a pre trip report back in August. Bare with me. This will all go from memory. I tried to write down stuff, but was so exhausted by the end of the day that I only wrote down 2 of the days. Here it goes....

    Me - Desi - 32
    DBF - Jason - 31
    DS - Connor - 5

Well we are all geared up and waiting at the New Orleans airport. Our flight was suppose to leave around 2:50 PM, but we did not take off until close to 4PM due to delays. It was a pretty smooth flight up until the last leg of it. We flew into some thunderstorms, so it felt like I was on Tower of Terror. I aready do not like to fly as it is. The only benefit to me is that we get to the destination faster. So we finally landed and headed straight for Magical Express. We did not have to wait to long for the bus to pull out. Had to make a couple of stops before we were dropped off at the Poly. Once we got there we were in heaven. They greeted us with happiness and brought us straight to front desk. Jason was kind enough to walk Connor around and bring him to kids area while I checked us all in. Everything went flawless except for one thing (which you will have to wait to hear until Day 4. You will realize why after you read Day 4 Trip Report). So we get to the room to drop off a few things and freshen up before our dinner at Ohana's. Our luggage did not show up to the room yet, which we expected since they said it could take a couple of hours. So we eventually left the room and went to the lobby to put in our name for Ohana's. We had a 9 PM dinner reservation, but was hoping to get in a little early. They were slam packed. So we still checked in and informed us they were about 30 min behind schedule. So we decided to look in the gift shop while we waited. After we took a seat and enjoed some beverages (I enjoyed the Lapi Lapi, Jason enjoyed a beer, and Connor enjoyed a soft drink). So finally our buzzer went off and we were seated.
Dinner was fabulous - they start you off with a big bowl of salad to share, then they bring out the pork dumplings and noodles. After they come around with steak, chicken, pork, and shrimp. The grand finale was the banana pudding. I highly recommend it. It comes with ice cream. They also brought out a cupcake for Jason and Connor since we were celebrating their birthdays.
After dinner we went back to the room. Our luggage was there, but was a little disappointed because they must have been sitting out in the rain. Do not know if it was the airline fault or magical express fault. I was just bummed because some of my clothes (and my son's clothes) got wet. But did not let that put a damper on things. We got ready for bed and called it a night since we had to wake up at 7AM to go to Epcot.
