Can ipod touches connect to windows media player? Or only itunes? I rented a bunch of cd's and put them on windows media, not itunes, so and my friends say that I can only use ipods to itunes.. is this correct?
As far as I know, you will need to import the files into your iTunes library in order to sync them to your iPod. If they are windows media audio files, iTunes will convert them to the proper format.
you can only use itunes but the good news is that if your ripped the cd on windows media player (unless it riped in wpa) you can move it to the itunes file and if it is in .wpa you can convert it to mp3 or acc

Doing a Google Search on "iTunes Alternatives" yields many alternatives to that horrible software.
I only have it on my machine to jailbreak my phones, other than that, I don't use it. The jailbreaking apps only need a few of the DLLs from the install.
