Darn Just got back Trip and Dining Report

Well, Darn just got back from Disney and ready to go back.

Well here is the trip and dining report.

Sept 4th to Sept 10th at Port Orleans Riverside.

Other than a few showers the weather was great and the crowds were very manageable. We had no major issues at any of the parks and for the most part the busses were fairly empty except for two rides and people had to stand.

As for dining I am going to rate them with Mickeys. 1- poor and 5- excellent

Day 1, Raglan Road Dinner : 4

Good food good service.

Day 2, Coral Reef
Dinner : 3

Food good to fair and good service

Day 3, Raglan Road ( Again )
Dinner : 4
Good food and good service

Day 4, Mama Melrose
Dinner : 2

Mediocore food and poor service

Day 5, Boatwrights
Dinner : 4

Very good food and service

Day 6, California Grill
Dinner: 5

Excellent food and service

Boatwright was a very pleasant surprise, I would say that it was one of disney's hidden gems.

Cant wait until next trip but when you are retired and on a fixed income it just comes slower.

I know what you mean about just getting back and wanting to go again! We were at the AKL villas fro 8/12-8/20. Came back home and started talking. Last week I called and booked the Beach Club Villas for May 25-June 2. Now I have to count the days again!

This was my 3rd stay at POR and I love it. It is so quiet I really dont think you have any reason for concern. Its very laid back and is a great place for couples and families.

Be sure and try the Boatwright resturant it was great.

We stayed at POR in 2007 and the resort is beautiful. However, I would have to say that the food court is not that great in my family's opinion anyway. The kids were pretty much not happy with anything they had. While the resort is beautiful it is not bright bold colors and disney theming like the values.

so really I guess it is a love hate thing to a point, but its all about what you like. I still think the resort is beautiful and the rooms were good too. nice size. but the kids really like the more in your face disney over the natural beauty of POR. The walkig trail there is nice as is the fishing hole and the pools were great too. We did like the convienence of taking the boat to DTD as well. My DH did like some of the food at the food court, but on our last trip we stayed at ASMovie and everyone agreed that we liked it there much better. The kids loved the food court and all were happy.

I would say that it all depends on who you are traveling with and what you like. Take a look at the menus under intercot central and see if you like the food in the court and check out photos of the resort as well. Its not that we didnt like POR, it just wasn't a good fit for us, however I still would recomend it to others. especialloy those traveling with parties of 5 since they are the cheaper option if you have this many people.
