Downtown Close Down

8/20/11 A third retail location change has been announced for Downtown Disney Westside this Fall. It has been internally announced that Magic Masters will close September 30, 2011. The location will be replaced by Something Silver.

Two Downtown Disney Westside retail locations will close this Fall. Downtown Disney has internally announced that Magnetron will close September 30, 2011 and Sunglass Icon will close “Fall 2011”. The Magnetron location has been announced to be replaced by BLINK. BLINK is a concept store by Wet Seal that sells Denim apparel for women sizes 00-15. Sunglass Hut will be replacing its current Sunglass Icon location with a new flagship store. They have announced that the new store will feature, “cutting edge technology and the latest in sunglass fashion from the around the world”.



Sailing into the Sunset

Character Cast has reported that Angelica will cease Meet & Greet appearances at the Magic Kingdom park on August 20th, 2011. The “On Stranger Tides” character is currently meeting near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Prior to Angelica, the Meet & Greet location was used for Pirate Goofy. It has not been announced if Pirate Goofy will return to this Meet & Greet location or if the location will go dormant.

Food Fall-Out

8/14/11
Guests to the Magic Kingdom during the Late Summer / Early Fall period will find their counter service selections slightly limited. Two of the Magic Kingdom’s Counter Service locations will be closing for multi-week refurbishments Late August through Mid September. Casey’s Corner is schedule to be closed from August 30 through September 14, 2011 and the Lunching Pad is schedule to be closed from August 29 through September 13, 2011.


Open House

7/25/11 The House of Innoventions re-opened on July 6, 2011 in Epcot’s Innoventions East pavilion. The exhibit has re-opened from its October 2009 closure with the same tour-style format, but with new products to display. The exhibit features new products from HP, Microsoft, Siemens, Kohler, and Element Four Technologies.

Recycled Couture

7/25/11
The Outpost in Epcot’s World Showcase has added a new retail kiosk. The new Bead Outpost kiosk offers make-your-own jewelry with water resistant beads made from recycled Disney Park Guides. Guests can use the beads to make their own earrings, bracelets, and necklaces ranging in price from $7 to $20.
