We haven't been to WDW for some time between moving (again, we move a lot.), DH training & travelling for marathons, and school for the boys & me. Our last trip to WDW was for the Marathon and the boys were still fairly little so it will be nice to be stroller-less. (And yes, the 4yo is ready and able to walk WDW) Also, this is our first trip since DS2 was diagnosed with Autism. Through his therapy and hard work he has come a long way and our trip will be SO much different because we know what to expect with him and he is now able to talk. He doesn't remember going to WDW at all despite having been over 5 times!

We are flying standby into MCO (we always fly standby) on Thursday 18th hopefully in the afternoon. We are spending the first night at the Marriott by the airport. The next morning, the 19th, we will head back to the airport and take ME to the BC. We haven't decided if we are doing the parks or the pool/mini golf/DTD for the first day, but it will affect our last day as we have a 7 day hopper pass.

We never make ADRs. Okay, not never, but usually not before we get down to WDW. We have generally had good luck with walk ups or day of ADRs, but find that we usually just prefer CS. For this trip, I made our very first pre trip ADR, just one, for the Rose&Crown on Sunday at dinner.

Being "seat-of-our-pants" people means little planning for touring. I have a list of all the park hours, which are generally busiest when, etc. Our general plan is to wake up (early, because my kids are super morning people... which is not always my idea of fun.) and pick a park to go to. We are bringing food and snacks for the room, breakfast daily before heading out. Depending on how we feel each day, we are planning for some pool time with plenty of trips to Beaches & Cream. The only place we aren't planning on going is AK, unless the kids really want to... we never have a good time there and often just end up crabby and tired.

This is our Anniversary trip! DH and I were married on St. Pete Beach by my Aunt who was a CM She has since passed away and we always remember her with each visit! We don't have any plans for our Anniversary, but we may send the kids to the kids club or get a sitter (we have had great experiences in the past with the sitting services).

The end of our trip will actually be the Friday 26th with a late checkout, and a check in back to the Marriott (or the Hyatt, haven't decided). This will make an early wake up a bit easier for flying standby back to ORD.

it sounds like you will have a wonderful trip i'm relieved to hear that you never plan and end up having a great time. this is my first trip not planning a thing and although i am very nervous about it, it sounds like things go well for you so maybe it will be the beginning of a new method of disney vacationing for us

We are just hours away... not packed, the house isn't cleaned, but it will get done!

Have any of your kids ever gotten SUPER CRABBY right before a trip? I think DS#1 has hit a record for crabbiness... I think he is stressed and takes it out in an unpleasant manner. Ugh. Poor kid. I am hoping that by tomorrow afternoon he'll be a MUCH happier boy.

Thanks all! We made the flight, made it to WDW and are having a great time! We have a balcony which is great for when the boys go to bed and DH & I get to hang out DS#2 has walked the entire way wo complaint... Impressive for a 4yo!
