    Talking Best Disney Experience Ever???

Ok, so I just had to start this thread to ask about everyone's most thrilling Disney experience! If you could choose the ultimate moment from a Disney vaca, what would it be? Mine would definately be from our last trip in 2008 and we arrived at MK during the opening ceremony (which we had never seen before- it was pretty amazing but sad since it was our last day). My mom and I wanted to be the first people to ride HM that morning. So we are heading in the direction of Liberty Square from Adventureland. Well, the entrance to Liberty Square had not yet been opened. So we waited until, amazingly, 3 "ghost hosts" (a man and two women) from the HM came and opened the gate. They escorted me and my mom to HM while staying in character with each stride. That was, IMHO, by far the best Disney experience I've ever had!
"When hinges creak in doorless chambers... and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls.. whenever candlelights flicker... where the air is deathly still... that is the time when ghosts are present... practicing their terror with ghoulish delight."

I guess mine will have to be walking onto Main St. the first time and seeing the castle...there's just nothing like it and I don't feel like I've been to Disney until that happens

    Default Birthday Magic

I know I've posted this before, but for my DD's 4th Birthday we found ourselves outside the GMR at MGM at park closing and asked if the ride was still open. One of the CMs went inside and the other CM chatted with us asking about our trip. Seeing our DD's Birthday button, they said that they had time to let us ride. We made our way through the queue and were told at the last door before entering the backstage loading area that there was a small delay. After just a few short minutes, the ride Manager appeared and escorted us to the ride car where we were the only ones there and in the middle of the front row was a Birthday card with our DDs name on it. I will never forget that Disney memory or the time and care the CMs took that night to make our memory.

So when I see all the negativity posted here sometimes, I laugh and think about that time and why WDW will always get my vacation money, no matter how slow a bus may seem, or how I have to buy a new mug each year, or that OMG they actually have to raise prices occasionally to keep up with our economy. This is my choice, I love WDW and always will. Thanks for reading.

I absolutely agree!! That is an awesome memory! I have so many, but one that holds a special place in my heart is when we were waiting for the rope drop at EPCOT. My son was wearing his Donald hat, and Donald came up to him and gestured to his hat and did a thumbs up. My son hugged him so hard. As Donald was walking away, my son said," Mom, he loves me as much as I love him." Tears are flowing as I'm typing this! My son has severe ADHD and mild autism. It took so many years for him to warm up to the characters, so this was a major milestone in our Disney family. I had the picture blown up and it hangs proudly in our den! So as you put it, that is why Disney gets our $ year after year.

It would have to be our first trip. We were approaching MK by boat and my first sighting of the castle was amazing

    Here's my top three moments:

    1. Watching DDs, aged 6 and 9, standing on the train platform and gazing down Main Street towards the Castle, while wearing their brand new traditional embroidered Mickey Mouse ears!

    2. Walking into the Wilderness Lodge lobby for the first time, on our very first WDW trip (just DW and I on our honeymoon) and being in awe.

    3. Just after watching MSEP, asking my DDs if WDW was living up to their expectations after all my hype, and they answered a resounding "Even better!" I knew right then that every penny I spent was worth it!!!

Default Family of the day at epcot

We got to be the family of the day at Epcot. We got chosen and a test track car picked us up and drove us around as we were being announced. The car drove us over to mission space and test track and we got to ride as many times as we wanted. We got to go in the rides control room of mission space. Free pictures, free ice-cream, preffered seating for illuminations and unlimited fast passes. Now that is a memory of a lifetime. And that's why Disney gets my money year after year. Nothing can compare!

    Default Best Memory Ever

I would have to say, several years ago when we accidently showed up at MK on what we thought was an early entry day. We were the ONLY ones at the gate and they ( probably out of pitty) picked us and DD's, then probably 4 and 7 to open the park!!! What an awesome moment for all of us, namely our little princesses.

There have been many special memories. My very first trip and view of the castle of course. After that, they all pretty much involve my son and the trips we've taken as a family. On his first visit, he was a few months shy of 2 and I was a little worried about his reaction to the characters. No fears, he was diving out of his coach whether he knew the characters or not. His first Chef Mickey's breakfast and clapping for Mickey and his big hug for Pooh at the Crystal Palace showed me he'd love WDW as much as me. On our most recent trip, we got to be the family of the day at the Crystal Palace and read the words about friendship before entering the restaurant and opening it for everyone else. So many great memories come to mind when I think of my favorite vacation spot.

Most Magical moment for our family: Riding Splash Mountain at night on our kids' first visit to WDW, we had only arrived at MK about 9 p.m. While we were riding Splash Mountain the fireworks show began (without us knowing ahead of time), plus there was a big bright full moon overhead that night. With the fireworks exploding overhead unexpectedly, and the thrill of our kids first visit to MK, barely an hour into their first visit, not to mention how much fun Splash Mountain is to begin with, it was a truly magical and memorable experience. We have made it a point to ride Splash Mtn. during Wishes at least once on every trip since.

What a great surprise! Hats off to those cast members!

We stayed at the Beach Club for our honeymoon in 1994 and received a basket of goodies in our from the general manager. That was a great surprise for us.

For me it was arriving at the Grand Floridian for our Anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted at the valet parking by a CM informing us we had been selected and upgraded and had won a “Dream” to the Concierge level. It was awesome. She escorted us past check-in saying it was all set. Gave us a short tour of the hotel then brought us to our room with keys in hand. To top it off there was a photo and a note from Belle and the Beast waiting on our dresser.

    There are so many.

All the CMs over the years who gave my youngest DS a at the Studios (there have been 4 or 5) while we were so clearly waiting for DH and our oldest DS at RnR. Made being too short to ride a little more palatable!

Our waiter the first time we ate at the Brown Derby who spoke to my sons like they were people, and disappeared and reappeared with milkshakes for them.

Last May, chasing after our sons, my friend and her daughter through the incredible pre-fireworks crowds in the Hub to get to the Barnstormer for one last ride before it closed for the night. The CM's made sure all the kids were there to get their ride in!
