Default Anyone planning to go to the new Legoland ?

Anyone planning to go to the new Lego land when it opens in the autumn ?

If its half has good as the one in the UK ( to which i am sure it will ) I think its going to give the other parks a run for their money

Absolutely! Our DS7 is an extreme LEGO enthusiast (he has the 3803 piece Death Star built and in use in our dining room to prove it!). We will absolutely venture over to LEGOLand next year!

Where will this be based - would like to check it out.
(Although I think Legoland in the UK leaves a lot to be desired I will not be revisiting anytime soon)

I want to go, hopefully next fall. My son and I both are LEGO enthusiasts. Here, in my office, I have six LEGO sets on display on shelves....

It based in Winter Haven ( i think its were the old Cypress Gardens was ) so its about 40-45 miles from Disney

The UK Legoland is a great park compared to what we have in the UK, am showing my age but i remember before it was Legoland, it used to be Windsor Safari Park

We have one of those too...only it belongs to DH.

I'm not sure we'll be going to Legoland. The one here in Carlsbad has a lot more attractions than the one in Florida will have (at this time) and we go there fairly often. If they eventually expand Legoland to include a water park and more rides, we might venture over.

Thanks RAIDER - although I am probably the same age as I remember Windsor Safari Park too.
Just had a very poor experience the last time I visited and it has clouded my judgement!

Would love to, but seeing that it's a distance away from Disney, don't know if we'll make it on our next trip.

(Have to plan a non-Disney Florida trip someday--GASP!)

    Default Maybe

We plan to be in Orlando October 15-22. If the park is open by then, we'll need to set a day aside to attend. We visited the California Legoland several years ago, and it is my son's favorite park.

I wish I'd known about this before making our plane reservations, we'd have added an extra day.

I know the rumored opening is October 15, but I don't have a lot of confidence in that date -- which complicates our advance planning.

I will say yes since I am a huge Lego Fan since I was 5 years old. And at 36 I would still be messing with them if they were not in storage and I had the room.

But tell me, why why why did they not have the cool stuff when I was a kid? Look at all the stuff they have now.

Because, all us "Lego Maniacs" from the 80's grew up and became the people who make the cool stuff now. Legos were relatively new when we were kids. DH and I are happy to have two little boys who love Lego, because we get to be kids again.

    Question

We plan to go...Any suggestions on how to get there from Disney? We are flying to Disney and have no reason to rent a car other than this. However, other than a taxi does anyone have a suggestion on how to get there?

    Thanks

I have no idea ,but with any luck with some theme parks such as Busch /Seaworld .They might lay on a bus from various hotels ...If they have any brains in promoting this park they will ....Good luck
