    Default Broken toe-Here we go!

After a quick tumble down the stairs on Christmas night (please turn on your lights in the middle of the night-just trust me on that!), two broken toes will NOT slow me down at Disney next week!

Well, it might SLOW me down, but it won't stop me. (No cast, just a lot of limping)

I'll just drink a few extra Grey Goose slushies to numb the pain.

Anyone else head out with a minor injury? Did it stop you from doing any of the rides?
    Karen

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
    "So it is."
    "And freezing."
    "Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

Sorry about your broken toes. Loved the Grey Goose remedy (too funny).
Hope you have a great trip.

Had a stress fracture of my foot a few years ago...Just went ahead and clomped around in a knee high boot. Was a little slower getting on and off a few rides (like Splash Mountain). People kept telling me I should rent a wheelchair, but I just took my time and sat down to rest if I got tired. Like you, wasn't going to let it ruin my trip!

I am heading out in 9 days. I am running the half and full marathons, and walking around WDW for 7 days and I have hurt my flexor tendon in my ankle. So, if you see someone hobbling around with her race medals who can't really even walk, that'll be me.
I may have to join you in the Grey Goose slush drinking. A much better remedy than pain pills!!!

I've done the broken toe, my son has done a broken ankle and my dad went with bone cancer. I wish I had known about the Grey Goose slushie pain meds then

What a bummer, Karen! I think your Grey Goose remedy is a fine one, though. On second thought, you could always have Cranky carry you!

One way or another, I know you'll have a great time, regardless of those darn toes!

Sorry about the toes! If necessary, rent an ECV; other than that, you should be fine!

Thanks for the well wishes! Sounds like a few of you have done this before.

I'll pass on the ECV. There are truly people out there who need them much more than I do. To say nothing of the fact that I would probably mow people down (unintentially of course. if you haven't figured it out, I am the biggest klutz on the planet). This is NOT the first time I have fallen on our bedroom steps. My doctor has started SERIOUSLY asking me if I am safe at home! At some point if I don't stop coming in for all of my falls, they may take my husband away!

I have 7 days to heal. I am sure they will be fine by then. If not, I still have my air boot from the LAST time I fell down those same stairs! Just have to get it through airport security.

Sorry about the broken toes! My neighbor (another WDW fanatic) broke her toes about a week before their Oct trip this year. It did slow her down a little, which made her hubby happy. She decorated her special shoe with Disney art before she left. We are southern baptist...so no vodka slushies are allowed.

I feel your pain! I have a broken middle toe right now - family pile-up gone wrong I taped my toes together and did a slow mile walk today since the weather warmed up.
I'd try to stay off your feet as much as you can for the next 7 days and bring that old air boot along.
I highly recommend a Lapu Lapu at the Poly after a day of hopping around the parks

    Feel better soon!
