Default Christmas Decorations at the hotels

Hi everyone, I am sure this has been asked in the past, but I am wondering...we are taking our first trip during the Christmas season (we usually go in May or October) and I really want to see the decorations at the resorts! Especially the gingerbread house at GF. Any other suggestions of great hotels to see while there? We will be staying at CSR and just really want to travel around and check out the decorations!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are definitely worth a look-see. You've already mentioned wanting to go to the Grand Floridian.

WL is not to be missed for the holidays. We also really enjoy all the resorts around Ecpot. You could have a dinner at one of the resorts and spend an hour or two walking from resort to resort. Even the Dolphin was great to see. It had a HUGE tree in its lobby.

Another vote for the Wilderness Lodge. I would also suggest the camp sites at Fort Wilderness. The campers really go out of their way to decorate for a Disney Christmas

I would try to go to all of them-especially the ones mentioned.

Another fun activity - a carriage ride through the campground at Ft. Wilderness. The campers are all decorated!

    Have fun!!!

I agree with all of the above! My DH and I went to WDW last December. We decided not go to a park on our arrival day, since we arrive in the late afternoon. We decided to go explore the resorts on the monorail loop (GF was the best of those!). Then we hopped a boat to WL. I stayed here years ago in the summer, so I already knew the lobby was amazing. But at Christmas it's just so warm and special and absolutely beautiful! A couple of days later we went to EPCOT. When we were exploring the World Showcase, we exited at the International Gateway. We took the boat to the Boardwalk Resort. I was amazed at the chocolate gazebo with Donald, Daisy and Stitch. It smelled amazing and the detail was awesome! Must see (and smell)! We then continued down to the Yacht and Beach club. The chocolate carousel in the Beach club was beautiful! I especially liked it because on the decorations of one of the horses there was an invitation list, and mine was on it! So I felt special! We didn't get down to the Swan & Dolphin, nor the AKL, so I can't comment on those. I know that we will definately make the time to see AKL, I've never been to the resort and would really be interested to see it all decorated up as well! As you can can see, I really enjoyed seeing the Deluxe Resorts' decorations!

We stayed at POP Century and didn't get around to any moderates. We are thinking of trying to swing by Port Orleans this December to check out their decorations and property!

There's so much that I want to see during the holidays at WDW that I don't know how I'll have time to do rides and attractions!

    Great thread!

    1) the gingerbread house at GF
    2) the chocolate carousel at Beach Club
    3) the chocolate mural/scene (not always the same one - was pinnochio last time I saw it) at Contemporary
    4) the gingerbread house inside the CS place in the US section of the world showcase (they sell gingerbread from this one too (and hot punch or cider)
    5) AKL and Wilderness lodge are beautiful.

50 days left til we leave too

WL for sure! Take time to sit in the lobby with a coffee or something. It's really beautiful.

I think pretty much all the Deluxes are worth seeing at Christmas! Enjoy!

    Default 2 questions

I saw a video on Youtube that showed the Osborne lights on. The guy was in Disney World a couple of days ago. So I'm wondering if they are up and do they turn them on at night even though it's a little early. Also, the same guy also mentioned that the McDonalds in Downtown Disney is getting replaced by a chicken place. Is the McDonalds currently closed?
We leave for WDW in 10 days (Wahoo!) and I just was wondering about all of this.
