I have not ever been on this ride. I don't like to
get wet. I think it is the luck just where you sit
on this ride. My kids love it and some of them
get wet and the others don't. I think it would be
a fun ride and someday I will try it.

We went on it twice in a row. Those not soaked the first time were soaked the second time. Had to laugh---people in line were wondering the same thing and saw us go by after the second run with water running off of us in streams. Loved the look on their faces!

We always tend to be the ones who get wet. Last week, we were the six who got soaked! It was very hot out, but it ended up being a pain being that wet. Splash wet is a good wet when it's hot. Kali...not so much.

First time I went on KRR was our honeymoon shortly after 9/11. We got to the park a little over an hour before opening (we were told it opened at 8AM and it opened at 9AM). They saw our Bride and Groom pins and gave us free breakfast at Donald's Breakfastsaurus. We finished breakfast about 15 minutes before park opening. They asked if we wanted to test KRR...

Well, we went on it 6 times in a row without getting off. When we finally got off, it looked like we swam it. People in line saw us soaked and we told them they would get wet. We didn't tell them we went a bunch of times. We walked around soaking for a good 2-hours. It was so much fun.

We always tend to be the ones that get SOAKED! Since we go in the summer and the humidity is at its highest, usually it takes all day for us to get dry! Sometimes we bring a change of underwear-We don't mind being wet but wet underwear is a totally different story.

Haha! I love this thread. I have only been on the ride once as I really don't like walking around in wet clothes. Luckily (for myself) my left sneaker and sock was left a bit damp, the rest of me bone dry. But my Girlfriend sitting right next to me got drenched from head to toe!

you don't always get soaked on Kali River. Its a matter of which way you go down the drops. I went on the ride twice and came off dry both times.

It's a matter of degrees. You're going to get wet, it's just a matter of how much. You really can't predict who's going to get soaked, so you just plan that you are going to get wet.

When we rode it, we rode it on a day we went to multiple parks. We went to Animal Kingdom first and rode Kali River Rapids after it opened (it opened later than the park did.) We got soaked, but our plan was to go back to our hotel room to change into dry clothes before heading off to the other parks we were visiting, which we did.

As others have said, it is roulette who gets wet and who doesn't. We just returned from WDW and everyone on our boat got wet (ranging from 50% wet to drenched) each of the 4 times we rode. Beyond saving Kali until the last ride of the day, you can consider wearing a poncho (I sometimes do this, but it does invite eye rolling from others) or wear clothing that is quicker to dry - definitely not denim and most definitely not jeans! I was mostly dry w/in 30 minutes after getting really wet last week. One other bit of advice - when choosing what you are going to wear for the day, take into account that wet clothing is sometimes very revealing - so choose wisely.

    Have fun!

This last visit I stopped by the dollar store and bought ponchos, 2 for a dollar. They fit compactly in backpacks/purses, and you can either refold and reuse them or just pitch 'em after Kali/Splash Mountain.

The one time DH and I went on the ride, we wore ponchos. We were pretty dry. We may have looked stupid, but everyone in our raft said we had a great idea.
