    Default Star Tours II opening date

    I got word today that Star Tours 2 will open in WDW on May 17, 2011 and DLR on May 10, 2011. So, start planning those trips for next year!

    I'm more interested to see what version WDW gets, rumors have it WDW didn't want to spend the money that Disneyland is spending, so it may be missing some bells and whistles.

    Great news! I found it funny this year that both days we were at Star Wars weekends, the wait for Star Wars was still fairly short every time we passed it (usually around 15 minutes) and the park was packed. I'm sure that won't be the case next year.

    I have to say, I am happy for an upgrade but will miss the original. I got a kick out of how "retro" it all felt. I also am not a big fan of the 3D craze, but if it looks anything like Toy Story Mania I have high hopes.

    Man I've been away from the boards too long...(darn school) but I didn't even know that Star Tours was going down. I'm super happy we saw it before we left last time. Shocking though! Is it just gona be a cleanup refurb or a whole new game plan?

    People who work the current Star Tours are losing jobs over the refurbishment...I guess not enough places to put them while the ride is being redone. Hope they land on their feet.

    I will be interested in the new ST. The one now makes my head get all messed up!!

    Guess that comes with getting old!
