??? about WL's activites
We are heading to Disney in July, staying at Wilderness Lodge and I have a couple of questions for any recent visitors or very informed people
1) How much are the caricatures at WL?
2)How are the movies shown on the beach? Are they shown only on specific nights?
Thanks

I can only address the movie question.
Movies are shown every night. When you check in, you will receive a calendar of activities. It tells what movie is shown each night. They have lounge chairs set up in front of a large screen. It was pretty neat. I did notice some bugs around, so I would suggest having some bug spray with you.
If only everyone was as happy as Goofy is...

I think they might still do the 'flag family' of the day. It is a family that is chosen to help raise the flag on a particular morning of their visit. You might ask about it when you check-in, if you're interested.

Caricatures are $15 for b/w and $30 for color
I can't remember (and we just got back ) if there was a movie shown on the beach every night or only on certain nights. Regardless, it's a least a few times a week.
Activities - there is a daily "pool party" with fun games for the kids and the family as well. Dancing, hula-hoop, singing, bingo, "wat's in your beach bag", that sort of thing.
Upon check-in, you may ask if they have an opening for a flag family during your stay. If so, you will awake bright and early and be escorted up to roof of the Lodge and raise the WL flags. You will also get a special tour of the lodge. Additionally, you will get a special photo taken of your family by the resident Lodge photographer (not sure of the photo is complimentary or has a cost). Either way well worth it.
Speaking of photographers, the Lodge now has a photographer. I'm guessing other deluxe resorts do as well???? For $99.95 you and your family will spend approx. 30 minutes having a photo shoot at various locations all around the Lodge. You are then presented with a CD/DVD of all the photos taken. How cool is that. We really wanted to do this...so worth the $$ but teenager DD was ssuch a crab, we didn't want photos full of fake smiles
For the record, I totally believe WL has just about the best transportation in all of WDW.

We just got back from WDW and there were movies shown every night at WL. We only stayed at WL for one night, changed our mind about driving home and booked a room from the lobby of WL and spent one more night in WDW. The daily activities guide we got listed the movies each night. You'll get that when you check in and know what movies are playing on what nights. I do recall seeing a Mystery Movie night where I guess you don't find out what movie is playing till you arrive. It was Hannah Montana the Movie the night we were there, and since I have two boys, 10 and 8, the last thing they wanted to do was spend time in WDW watching that movie so we didn't attend. But we've attended movies at other resorts in the past. Its a very fun evening.
