The Garden Wing rooms are identical to the Tower rooms, minus the balcony. They are very nice and close the the main building. I personally prefer a Tower room, because I feel like part of the magic of the Contemporary is the views it boasts.

Still, it is convenient to the monorail, restaurants and snack bar

The Garden Wing rooms at the CR are not the least expensive rooms of all of the Deluxes (WL and AKL have lower-priced rooms), but the standard view rooms in the wing are the least expensive rooms on the monorail and of any of the non-Lodge Deluxes.

The rooms themselves are very nice and big. We stayed in one in December 2008, and it had two queen beds, a sleeper sofa, a big bathroom with a separate sink area outside the shower/toilet and a little entry foyer with a fridge. It was really great to have all that room, because our son was only 5 months old, and we could put him in the pack-n-play at night to sleep and still watch tv without waking him up. I especially loved the fact that they had a computer with free internet access. Plus, there is no beating being able to walk from your hotel to the MK. It's an easy 10-15 minute walk.

The negative aspect is that it can be a bit of a hike to the Tower. Our room was probably a 10 minute walk (and I'm a pretty fast walker), so I would either request a room near the Tower or just plan accordingly. To me, it wouldn't be worth buying a refillable mug, because of the distance, but I definitely wouldn't let that keep me from staying there, either!

That would be the only down side to these rooms. We like to stay at the Contemporary because it is on the monorail route, however we were so far from the Tower that it was quicker/easier to just walk to the Magic Kingdom.

But, aside from that, the rooms were very nice. We had a great view of the Electric Water Pageant out our window at night, which added to the fun.

I like 'em! They are more restful and peaceful, as a general rule, than being in the bustle of the main building. And the rooms are just fine...in fact, I like the Contemporary's room decor more than any other Disney resort...very modern without being "too" modern.
