    Question More stupid stroller questions

I know this is discussed all the time, here, but I haven't been on the board for a while. I don't like to come here unless I have a trip planned. Otherwise it hurts too much!

    So my two questions are:

1.Do the strollers available for rental at the parks recline so the child could theoretically take a nap in them?

2.Does anyone know if a standard stroller, not the umbroller kind, but the big bulky kind you buy with the car seat, count as regular luggage on Delta, or will I have to pay an additional oversize fee to check it in?

    Thanks!

    1. I do not think the strollers recline. I think they are extremely large to begin with and a child can easily sleep in it.

    2. As much as Deltas is screwing with its customers, I think they are going to at least charge you as much as a checked bag for the stroller. Just my opinion.

No they do not recline. They are moulded plastic seats. Here is a picture of a double stroller:

The single strollers are the same, just not as wide.

In the past, I have flown with no problems on many airlines with our larger Graco stroller being plane-side checked (meaning it has to go through the scanner with our carry-ons). But recently I have heard that only umbrella strollers are allowed.
I would call the airline directly and find out.

The rented stollers do not recline.

Also, be aware that stroller rental costs have risen quite a lot in the last year or so. You might find it financially easier to bring your own.

As for stroller check policies, you should check with the airline you are flying. The information you want should be located on your airline's web site.

By the way, these are certainly not stupid questions. I would suspect if you are asking them, that other folks would like the answers as well!

Most airlines allow you to gate check your stroller but I would still call and double check. I just read another thread on here that gave a great review for Orlando Stroller rentals: http://intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=164766
The double stroller there looks as though it reclines.
    Good luck!!!!

We just flew Delta this Christmas (and if it weren't for the $300 in vouchers they gave us we'd never fly them again). Anyways, we gate checked our huge Graco Double Stroller (which they broke), with no problems. It was so big it couldn't fit through the x-ray machine. They gave us no trouble what so ever about gate checking it, for free.

Thanks for all your terrific input! Based on what I'm reading here, it definitely sounds like bringing our own is the way to go.

So this is my last question on the subject...can I bring my own stroller on the Disney busses? How does that work?

    Thanks again!

You may, and probably should, bring your own stroller on Disney transportation, but on buses, you must fold it up and hold your child. if you don't take it with you, then you will be renting at the parks anyway!

On the monorail and boats, you can generally leave it in the open orientation with your child inside.

It can go on the bus but as previous poster said you must fold it up and hand on to it on the ride. Don't forget to put something on the handle of your stroller to make it stand out. Cast members move the strollers around in a space saving attempt. In a sea of blue and black handles something to distinguish your stroller quickly is great. Glow bracelets at night are great, a bandana or ribbon during the day, anything that will be on the handle will help.
Also big tip here!!!! If you go to Fantasmic make sure to go all the way up with your stroller to the stroller parking with a cast member there!! There will be signs with arrows but there is a little alcove after one of the signs and if you park here your stroller will be moved out across the street, outside the entrance, leaving you searching for at least 30 minutes. You will see many strollers parked at that alcove and along the walkway, just keep going til you get to the large stroller parking spot!!
    Have fun!!
