    Default Annual passes

Do the prices of annual passes increase every year? When was the last increase? I'm planning on going to DW in May of 2010. Do you think there will be an increase in price before that?

Hopefully there won't be another price increase prior to your trip. The last few years they have hiked the rates the 1st few days of August. However, there was one year (2006 or 2007?) that they hiked A/P prices the beginning of the year, and again in August.

For the record, we've hit a price increase each year we purchase A/Ps - it's a pretty regular thing.

I believe they just increased in price in August. There will probably not be another increase before May, but nothing is etched in stone.

    Cool

They raise them every year, yes.

I actually went back and checked after I renewed my last AP and was pretty surprised ... they price has gone up dramatically in like the last five years. I think it's increased close to $100 for a base AP.

You can order your Annual Pass anytime- the "year" does not start until you use it the first time. They will mail you a voucher (or you can pick it up once you arrive). You need to bring the voucher and your ID to Guest Services outside any park or in Downtown Disney and at that time, you will be given your actual Annual Pass. That's when the 365 days start.

So, if you want to insure you beat out any prices increases- order your APs now!
(There is no expiration date on the voucher.)

    Just as an FYI . . .

For whatever reason, I can't seem to find my '04 A/P base pass rates. However, going back to '02 (for DH and my Adult tix at the time), the rate was $354.04 with tax each with our "Disney Club" discount. It's now over $520 each with tax - almost $170 more per ticket seven years later. Do we still make out ahead, getting two annual trips out of our A/Ps (30 days per pass) ? Yes - but it's getting kinda a hard to substantiate these kind of rates when the benefits have been cut to an absolute minimum. The only thing that saves us these trips is the Tables in Wonderland discount . . .

If you can swing it, I'd buy them now. The only thing that's stopping us is that we bought into the 4/3 deal last June, and we need to purchase our A/Ps at Guest Services on property to get the $75 per ticket credit.

I can only remember increases once per year, but I might be wrong. And seeing the previous post it looks like I am!

We bought our AP's the day before the increase and picked them up at Guest Relations at DTD a month later. So we just squeaked in at the cheaper rate. I do agree with the Tables in Wonderland card, it is a good way to save money. Plus the fact that DVC gives a discount substantial discount makes it a better option for us.
