Default Scooter and Big D - 50th Bday! Day 3

Cast – Big D – this trip is his 50th birthday celebration
Scooter (me) – a bit younger than Big D, planner and plotter
Staying at All Star Sports on Free Dining plan (regular, not quick service) from Sept 21 - 27

    Day 3

We were up and out around 9:30, and got to Hollywood Studios around 10, still managed to snag a fastpass for Toy Story Mania, then off to the Tower again. We rode it twice, then back to the Roller Coaster again! Toy Story Mania was our next stop, and then (again, on friends' advice) ate at Pizza Planet. Yummy! We bypassed the Movie Ride, did Star Tours (can't wait till they put in the new movie) thought about Lights Motors Action but decided to go back for a dip and to change our shirts - off to the Halloween Party that night, but dinner at 1900 Park Faire first!

The dinner was wonderful, we have photos with EVERYONE! The Prince was charming, the Princess adorable and the stepsisters and stepmum were hysterical. We ended up buying the photo that is taken before you go in. Our costume was simple, two white Tshirts, each with half a Mickey pumpkin on it - when we stood together it created the whole Mickey. The photo showed it well!

We went to the party as the rest of the people were clearing out. There was no sense of "clearing the park", though, we just picked up our wristbands and started shopping. We wanted some pins and Ts, and had them shipped back - then we headed for the Hall of Presidents (and the air conditioning) again. When we got out we found ourselves trapped by the first parade (kind of toasted the evening plans) so we hung out in front of the Liberty Bell and watched. What a catchy ditty! We wanted a photo with Mickey, but
when we investigated we found the line was way way long?! It was down in front of Minnie's house…

We decided to get a good spot to video Hallowishes - and ended up in a prime spot for the Villains Mix and Mingle! What a fun show. We video'd Hallowishes and then were in a prime spot for the second parade - I have a fabulous shot of the Headless Horseman.
We went into Futureworld and trick-or-treated - found that we somehow acquired about seven pounds of candy!

We were tired out around 10:30 and decided to head back - the line for the Haunted Mansion was also way way long so we decided not to bother - we were in the pool by 11:30 and in bed by 1 am.

The crowds were very, very heavy. I enjoyed this party but I don't know that I'd do it again - we'll have to see. It wasn't even a sellout - I would hate to see what the crowds were like when it is!!!

Firsts - Toy Story Mania, 1900 Park Faire, the Halloween party

Sounds like you had a great time! We love MNSSHP!! We're so sad we didn't get to go for Halloween this year...but we'll be there for Christmas instead.

Glad to hear you had a good experience at 1900 Park Fare. We're eating there in Dec., hoping our DDs love it too!

The Boo to You Parade is our favourite! The Headless Horseman is simply the best!

Back to DHS, huh? Sounds like you two are hooked on adrenaline!

I agree, while we're all huge Star Wars fans in my family, I'm SO ready for a refurb!

Most excellent experience @ 1900 Park Faire - reviews have been mixed lately. Glad to hear your character interaction and meal were both great.

You sure can get stuck in that corner if the parade is going - and I mean any parade, day or night, party or not. VERY cool that you got a picture of the Headless Horseman - I've heard he's impressive.

Another great day - hope you're going to sleep in tomorrow after that 1 am bed time!

It's VERY hard to get an excellent shot of the Headless Horseman! Glad you did!

The party is always fun and can range from ridiculously crowded to where are the people? Sometimes you can experience both extremes in the same night!

Another fun day - that's too bad though about the crowded party. I felt the same way the last time I attended MNSSHP a few years ago - I think they oversell the event unfortunately. Thanks again for sharing.
