To Meet & Beyond

9/14/09 The new Buzzlightyear Meet & Greet location has opened in Tommorowland. The meet and greet is under underneath the Tommorowland Transit Authority track in front of part of the former Galaxy Place theater footprint. The location features a backdrop of a control panel and an oversized battery prop. As part of the addition, a outdoor queue has also been constructed. The new meet & greet location is also a PhotoPass location.

1/24/09 Magic Kingdom Cast have reported that a new meet & greet location will be constructed in the front portion of the former foot print of the Galaxy Palace Theater. The new location will reportedly become a permanent home for Buzzlightyear.

Crystal Closure

9/28/09 It has been internally announced that the Crystal Palace restaurant at the Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment January 3 through February 12, 2010. It has also been announced that the Liberty Tree Tavern is currently scheduled to offer Character Breakfasts, Character Lunches, and Character Dinners as a compensatory offering for Guests during the refurbishment. The temporary character meals are planned to offer appearances by Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip and Dale.

Animal Arrivals

9/28/09 Disney's Animal Kingdom is scheduled to debut two new Meet & Greet offerings Fall 2009. The park will be expanding its line-up of characters appearing daily in the Camp Minnie-Mickey area of the park early next month. Starting October 4, 2009, Thumper and Miss Bunny from Walt Disney’s Bambi will be appearing intermittently as a new Character offering at the Camp Minnie-Mickey Greeting Trails. A new meet and greet location is also being constructed in the Dinoland USA section of the park. Construction permits have been filed for “development modifications including landscape, hardscape, electrical and weather structure” and “marquee installation” for a new Meet & Greet area. Although neither an opening date nor character offering has been announced for the forthcoming Dinoland location, Character Cast have reported they expect the area to open sometime this Fall.

New Fun on the Old Key

9/28/09 Disney’s Old Key West Resort is scheduled to refresh it’s playground offerings in the near term. Construction Permits have been filed to replace the playground equipment at the playgrounds located near Building #55 and near the Turtle Shack snack location.

Living with Larger Capacity

9/28/09 Attraction Cast have been informed that Living with the Land has been re-scheduled to open from refurbishment almost one month earlier than originally announced. The attraction, located inside Epcot’s Land pavilion, has been now been schedule to re-open from refurbishment October 4, 2009.

8/4/09 Attraction Cast have been informed that Living with the Land will re-open from refurbishment November 1, 2009.

8/2/09 Living with the Land has closed for the previously reported refurbishments. Epcot Cast have reportedly not been informed of a hard end date for the closure.

7/27/09 Epcot Cast have reported that Living with the Land is scheduled to debut some changes in Fall 2009. The attraction in Epcot’s Land Pavilion is scheduled to implement larger boats that can hold more Guests and better accommodate those in wheelchairs. In order to implement the larger boats, it is reported that the attraction’s ride path will need to be modified in certain areas. It is currently expected by Attraction Cast that the attraction will close for refurbishment to make the changes to the ride path, but such a closure has been yet to be concretely scheduled. The overall benefit of these changes has been reported to be a higher Guest capacity for the attraction.
