Southwest Travel Funds Expiration

Anybody ever had any experience with getting an extension on the expiration date for their travel funds. Went on a trip to Disney recently and found cheaper air last minute and saved about $500. I was able to use some of it but I still have about half left and it expires at the end of June. Will they extend?

You can ask them but I would be surprised if they do it.

Yes, I haven't done it awhile but it costs $50.

When I called customer service, they said they would possibly extend after the expiration date. I would definitely call them to see if you get a different answer. There is a penalty also. I believe it is $50.00 per ticket. Good luck. I was able to sell mine to a friend who was flying. You can transfer them to anyone.

it is $50 per voucher, so if you have 1 expired voucher it is $50, but if they gave you 2 different ones it would be $100

You can extend it usually, but only after it expires. You will need to write a letter to them to ask for the extension and it will be $50 per reservation number. The extension is for 6 months and I'm fairly certain it's a one time thing. You can't extend an extension...

I had some money expire on me a few years ago... I called them and told them I was not going to fly before the expiration but would shortly after....I was given a 6 month extension...but...I had to buy tickets, fly, then I could call and they would credit me back the moneys that expired onto my credit card. Not sure if they still do it that way now...It worked out okay for me...Call it can not hurt.

I just recently experienced this.....our flight is Oct 14 and our funds expire(d) on Oct 4......they would not budge on extending for me, so I just cut my loss b/c it was less than the "change" fee.....so they got me.

Not sure if I can post this or not. I have a credit of $10.50 I need to use by 8/21/09. It is not much, but I would love a fellow interoctee to use it if they want for free. Just PM me and I'll give you the information. My thought is any little bit always counts.
