the past 3 times to disney we rented a car - in 2007 for our 8 day trip is was $187.oo in 2008 for our 10 day rental it was $147!!! (great rate found by our ta) then this year it was $269.00 - for a 10 day - we stay in end of april / early may - well prices for next year are up in the 500s! so if they dont come down we are not getting one.....

i've mentioned this before, but it's a great $ saver for me and worth mentioning again. if there is a rental car company you prefer, try becomming a member of their frequent renter programs. i rent from avis exclusively, and am a "preferred member". (each company has their own version, i.e. hertz-#1 club, national's emerald club...) these clubs are usually free to join and give better rates than the average joe. plus the more you rent the better the rates get for the most part. give it a try, since when going to WDW, every cent counts!

Last year we got a mini van through National for $230 with taxes and fees through Costco, this year it's about $550.
