    Default Tower of Terror Marathon

I see that they are going to have this marathon on one of the days that we will be in WDW (24th of Oct). They have a 5K and 13K-has anyone participated that is not a "runner"? Do they have people participate that walk the course or would I be totally by myself?

    Thanks for any info.

I haven't done any of the Disney marathons...yet. But I will be doing the Half in Jan (unless I add one of the 3 from among the EE challenge, ToT 13K, or Race for the Taste 10K). And I will definitely be fast walking/jogging. And I'm sure there are others.

You can participate as a volunteer and "work" the race or registration. I have thought about doing this but never seem to be able to get to WDW during the race.

The FAQs say there is an 18-minute-per-mile pace requirement. That's walkable.

We did the Race for the Taste 10k a few years ago and there were plenty of walkers (or, like us, walkers and joggers).

That is good to hear. I am a power walker and try to keep a 10 - 12 mph pace. I wanted to participate but thought you had to run and the doc says that is no no for my knees.

Now I may have to get a group of walkers to go up for the day....

Hmmm... Looks like a typo there. 10-12 miles per hour walking? I don't think so.

In my book, a 10 -12 minute per mile (not mph) pace IS running. My last marathon was nearly a 10 minute pace! How can you walk so fast???? Don't think you'll have a problem keeping up at all.
