While, I must admit I've kind of been hoping this thread would die...I saw something over the holiday weekend that warranted adding more post to the count....and what I saw (at a firework display) are what would have to be the equivalent of Kings Tuts tomb when it comes to Jorts...that being a man wearing a pair of denim overalls that had been cut off (homestyle with frayed edges) to make denim overall shorts...not sure what to call this bit of fashion... perhaps jorteralls is the appropriate term.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow

Nah, it doesn't matter.
However, a better choice would be cargo shorts: POCKETS!

to Intercot! Yes, I love this thread as well and come back to it occasionally. And, yes, I will be wearing jorts when I visit WDW in November, and, as a matter of fact, I am wearing jorts as I post this. I enjoy seeing what threads will prompt people to post their first response on Intercot.

Lets see I had to look jorts up on line! LOL Goes to show how out of touch I am. Seems like back in 1985 though, people just called these cutoffs. I reckon there fine, but some off the pics on jorts.com are rough on the eyes. I must say I would'nt care to see mickey or minnie in them.

This was one of the greatest threads I've ever read here at Intercot!
Jean shorts (jorts, apparently) are certainly not "out" wear I live. I see them on store shelves for men and women, and see people wearing them all over the place.
I wear them since they go with any color shirt, they're durable, and comfortable. Personally the whole "fashionista" thing is ridiculous to me anyway. What a waste of your 75-odd years on this Earth to be so concerned with what people are wearing, and what an even bigger waste to try and create a whole industry to TELL people what they need to wear.
Wearing whatever you want proves that you are your own unique person...as was intended!

I think Jorts are ok for women.. but only if there are NO PLEATS..
these pleated pants/jorts are jokingly portrayed in a Saturday Night Live fake commercial..

Wait. What?
No denim shorts for men? When did this happen?
Are we talking about specific styles of denim shorts? Like cut-offs? Or the pleated ones that stop above the knee? Carpenter style?
I'm so confused. We lived in the SF Bay Area for years and men still wore "jorts" there.

There's nothing wrong with jean shorts, except cut-offs...that's just not right. Jean shorts DO sound bad when you call them jorts. Jorts? Where did that come from? Yikes.

True story, when I was driving down to WDW in Sep 05 (DH rode his motorcycle), we stopped to eat dinner at a Golden Corral Buffet. I was wearing my 'jepris' and I had on sneakers with them because I was driving, but I know that I looked presentable. Well, at a table near ours, two grown women (over 30) kept looking at me and laughing to one another and I think it was because of my 'jepris'. And by the looks of them, they were in no position to criticize me on my appearance. That was harsh.
Are 'jepris' out? Because I'm just now able to fit into mine again after finally losing the baby weight. If they're out, I may stop wearing them again. But I think that 'jepris' are 'in'. If you can find them at Nordstrom's for $165, then I think that they may be in.
