Bret Favre Retires
No really. He says that this is it. (feb 12th, 2009)
Brett the former jet says basically that age has caught up to him, that the necessary surgery to repair his arm is not worth it (too much rehab).
Well, thanks for the memories brett favre.
He had quite the carear.
5,720 compleations (9,280 attemps, 61.6%) for 65,127 yards .
464 TDs
310 Interceptions
469 sacks for 3,101 yards lost.
He ran 576 times for 1,829 yards and 14 TD's.
His carear spans from 1991 to 2008.
He played 16 seasons where he started all 16 games (1992 he played 15, 1991 he played 2)
(all stats were found on the NFL website).
2 Questions-
1) Will he remain retired ?
2) will he be inducted into the hall of fame ?
-

Let's see if this one sticks!
If the surgery really will take lots of time with rehab....he might actually stay retired.
And yes, he will be inducted into the hall of fame. He deserves to be.

Yes
and
Without a doubt, on his first year up for induction. There is no question. He is the only player in NFL history to win three MVP's back to back to back.
Lets not let the last half of his Jets career trump the legacy this man left. No one remembers Montana in KC, or Emmit in Pheonix, Eddis George in Dallas, etc....
Loads of trips since 1974...

Let's hope he stays retired. He is a first ballot, unanimous selection. This coming from someone who was a big Bears fan growing up. He was just good.

I remember watching Brett play several times in college. Southern Miss was in our conference (Memphis) and he was good. That seems like 10 lifetimes ago. It is amazing he is still playing all these years later and is still effective. I would love to have him qb my team if I were coaching. He is just one of those guys who knows how to win. All of that said I don't think he will retire for a few more years!
