    Default Tipping Question

We are heading down to WDW Saturday and are wondering about the tips we now have to pay as part of the dining plan.
Do they automatically charge you 20% or can we tip what we want? We are family of 4, so no large group extras applies. I just want to be able to tip those great servers extra and do a 10-15% for those who aren't so attentive.

You only have to have tip included for parties over 6 at an 18% rate. I believe you may tip according to your own choice if a party is less than 6.

You tip what you want. To save you having to figure it out, they put what "18%" and "20%" would be on your receipt. It's really no big deal. Just tip what you like and follow normal guidelines.

Don't worry, I'm a math teacher and figuring out the standard 15% won't be hard. Plus, it will be a good lesson for the kids!!

We were just there last week on the dining plan and there were no tips added just recommendations for 18% and 20%.

15% really isn't "standard" anymore. 18% is the minimum we tip... plus, it will be way more fun for a math teacher to figure out (if you don't cheat and look on the receipt!)

So what would you tip a crummy server? I've always done 20% for great service and 10-15% for poor....

I don't really use the tipping system as a way to punish people. If the service is satisfactory - no one cursing at me or spitting in my food - 20% is what I leave. If they are amazing and go above and beyond, I will leave more. If the service is horrible, I think a conversation should be had with the server or manager first, giving them a chance to make things right before passive-aggressively walking out and leaving a lousy tip for reasons they may not realize.
