Southwest Credits

How do Southwest credits work if you purchase them on Ebay? I think someone had said they were transferrable (if I'm wrong, disregard this post!) and it looks like you can save some money by buying them there and applying them. Can anyone who's done this give me a little insight as to how this all works?

I never bought any from ebay but they are transferable. I have credits from flights I purchased in July and when I book again I just have to put the confirmation code in to receive the credits.

I have sold them on eBay and it is very easy. All that is necessary is the Reservation Number and the purchaser's name. That's all it takes. I've sold 4 in the last 3 weeks. As SW lowers fares for our flights, I rebook and sell the credits if it is a significant amount.

I've never bought them on e-bay, but I have purchased them from a co-worker. I didn't have a problem, but then again, she was a couple of offices down in case they needed info from her.

I would imagine it's quite easy. A person couldn't take a flight and it was about to expire so they sold them. All they would have to do is buy the ticket in your name with their credits.

HOWEVER...Be careful on Ebay these days. I don't know what's up but it's kinda been slipping lately. More "vendors" than personal sellers. A lot of the "personal" sellers well...let's just say a few bad apples are spoiling the whole lot. I went looking for a PS3 and I saw lots of people selling "chances" for a PS3 as though they were treating it like a "drawing". I'm surprised they're getting away with that.

If you do use eBay, make sure you use PayPal. This way you and the seller are protected. It is not something to be concerned with.
