Another vote for Crystal Palace. Not only is the food excellent, but you're eating in MK with the 2nd best view (1st is of course Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle). They have a wide variety of food, and I have a special fondness for the Pooh characters.

We have always found the food and atmosphere to be slightly nicer at Chef Mickey's. However, it is so close in our opinion that we actually make our choice based on which characters we want to see.

thanks for the opinions so far. we did chef mickey's dinner on our 2007 honeymoon trip and i thought it was good, but way too noisy. i think the chef mickey's breakfast is much better on it not being so noisy. we have never done crystal palace so i thought it would be a nice experience. all in all i have us booked for a 5:05 pm seating at crystal palce for our december trip. my mom and one sister say crystal palace over chef mickey's, but my other sister said crystal palace was awful. she also said that about chef mickey's so i think she is just crazy! LOL we are definitely looking forward to a new dining experience and that view, plus different characters will be nice also. hope we can get a photo with piglet.

While its been so long since I ate at Chef Mickeys that my experience there (thou very good) is too dated to be useful, on a more recent trip we liked CP very much and it remains one of our favorite character meals...so my vote is for CP.

P.s. by the way going with Mom's choice is usually a good move.

Such a hard choice. I like them both but I think it's because (at breakfast) they basically have the same food on the buffet. I think I like the Crystal Palace a little more but we are eating at Chef Mickeys this time around because of our schedule.

If I had to choose between the 2, I would definatley go with Crystal Palace! The atmosphere is great, the food is great, the character interaction is fantastic and the Cast Members are also great!!! Chef Mickey's is ok, but the noise level in there and the chaos are just over the top!!! You won't be dissapointed with Crystal Palace.

It's been years since we ate at CP. We couldn't get a breakfast res. with Cinderella, so we had dinner with the Prince. Is it still the same? Anyway, it was neat for my niece. More recently, we went to CM, and toddler daughter was hamming it up with Minnie Mouse. Also the fireworks were going on at MK during our meal and that made it all worthwhile. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I do remember the mashed potatoes had blue cheese in them at CP. Blech. What's with all the blue cheese at WDW? CM had some awesome chocolate desserts on their buffet.

Chef Mickey's is a hard ticket to get for dinner, we've tried for years and were finally able to get a ADR our last trip. I thought it was fantastic! The characters were playful (mind you we were an all adult table) and the food was plentiful and yummy. Everyone was stuffed when we left the restaurant!

It's been a number of years since we've eaten at CP, but I don't remember it being anything to write home about when we dined there.
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️

Our choice is Crystal Palace for breakfast. No other place can beat being on Main Street before the Park opens and then having breakfast , it is really magical and we always have an 8-8:30 ADR here.

Chef Mickey's is great anytime, but we usually choose dinner here because we do breakfast at CP.
They are both great, you cannot go wrong either way.

We like BOTH! IMHO, I don't think you'll be upset with either choice. We are actually eating at Crystal Palace next Wednesday and Chef Mickey's on 9/3.

We've done both and haven't been disappointed with either but I have to say I love CP. Maybe it's all the light and the feel of the place. Plus the fun loving Pooh characters are an added bonus. We like the food there. You can choose things like rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies--basically a real meal. If you're like us, we long for something that tastes homecooked about midway into the trip. enjoy!

I would choose CP for dinner. I like Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but I think CP is better for dinner.

We have been to CP many times, but only Chef Mickey's one time this June. It's a close call, but I prefer CP because it seems less crowded and noisy, although the characters seemed a bit better at CM.

I would agree for dinner. We ate at Chef Mickey's one year and were very disappointed. The food was just awful. I am not a picky eater but did not care for the selections at all. There are far more choices at CP and IMHO the atmosphere and proximity is much better, after dinner all you have to do is walk out of the restaurant and continue touring the park!

I just realized I was talking about my trip to the castle, not the palace. I've never even eaten at the palace. Sorry about that.
