    Default Triple Header Weekend

Okey Dokey folks, I have finally had my nap and am awake, only to find that VFK is now down for repairs? What on earth did the lot of you do while I've been making the world safer for Rock & Roll?!?
Our 3 in a Row Shows came to and end today and I was home by 4-ish, visited VFK (and actually found a few peeps) and then a nap.
Night 1 started off a little slow during the 1st set but picked up steam and number of people by the end of that set. From then on the rest of the night was RAWKIN'! We gave away RELIX hats, marracca's (see the pictures with the kids jamming with us during "Sweet Emotion"), keyrings, rubber ducks, inflatable guitars and t-shirts (which we wound up having to sign a lot of those items... even a few shirts that weren't from us!) My throat and sinuses weren't 100% on night #1, but got better as the night ended. It was extremely hot (even tho' there are ceilling fans, the garage style doors were rolled open to the marina.) I DRANK A LOT OF WATER!!!
Night #2 we showed up and the parking area was so full we had to park quite a distance away. THE PLACE WAS PACKED!!!! Luckily, the staff had kinda reserved the usual table in the back corner for the band wives, otherwise it was pretty much SRO. The place was literally jumping all the way up until the middle of the last set when a lot of folks who must've still had to work petered out and called it a night. At that point, the show became a bit more intimate as we turned the set list over to those remaining and did whatever requests we could.
These are the pictures that turned out from the Oxbow Shows:

Each night we played from 8 until midnight, and after at least partially packing up on night 1 and a complete tear down on night 2, it was 12:45 am before we could leave, and about 1:15 am when I got home (and like 2-3 am before I wound down enough to finally sleep!)
Today it was up early and dropping Lady Ice at the airport and then over to the hospital where I work for our 2nd annual Memorial Day Bash. This time we gave them the full lights & fog show, which I think they deserved considering they never get any "entertainment visitors" during the rest of the year (besides DJ's, of which I pull duty as one.) As last year, they are perhaps the most receptive & appreciative crowd we have gotten to play for, and we get as much out doing this as they get seeing it. Got some great feedback already, but could see from the stage a lot of hospital staff (doctors' and program managers/directors) who seemed stunned to see that it was me up there with the band. I'm sure when I return to work later this week I will get hit with all sorts of strange comments.
HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAD A FANTASTIC MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND THAT AT SOME POINT YOU ALL REMEMBERED THE REASON FOR THIS HOLIDAY; THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED AND THOSE WHO HAVE GONE ON BEFORE US!

Cool weekend, Ice. Mine was pretty boring, although I did go to a birthday party on Saturday. I want an inflatable guitar! Keep on rockin' Ice.i!

Yeah, who knows why my eyes glow? Power? Evil? Magic?
    BTW:
I oughta point out that in the last pic, we were joking around during that last set on night 2, and I was pretending to have trouble choosing a guitar, and once I did, Chris picked up my Flying V and tried it out (his assesment; "Love the guitar, but your strap is so long 'cuz your so tall it felt like it was hanging down by my knees!")
You'll also see some Mickey Mouse ears on our drummer (I also wear my pair on a few songs... they are the ones that light up!) and a very tired look on our faces in a few pictures.
