possible opportunity to stay at a DVP location

Just found out that a friend of mine's brother belongs to DVP and she is finding out if he would let my family use it for our trip. His wife is stationed in Hawaii and they can't come back to Disney right now. Can anyone tell me how that would work if he were to let us use it?

Basically, as DVC owners, they would need to make the reservations for you, using their points. There are a few differences when you book through an owner, as opposed to going through Disney. For example, you don't get daily housekeeping service. You'll probably get more answers on the DVC forum, so I'll go ahead and move it there for you.
