If you are going to Disney anyway, I would say yes. The money you save by staying at the campground over any other resort makes up the difference. You can almost stay for a week at the campground for the same price as one night at many of the deluxe resorts. That makes it worth to me
I agree. Gas imho, Isnt much of a factor anymore. Most folks have it budgeted and i dont think the price affects camping one bit. As the above poster stated...You certainly DO save alot if you have a tent or camper!!
we travel from pennsylvania with a motor home towing a car. It would cost us about $700 to drive round trip. We decided that it was not worth it to go for just 1 week. This year we rented a house since there will be 14 of us, this was the most cost effective solution for us. We always drive, so the cost of airfare is not a factor. Plus I like to have my own car. Next time we will be staying for 2 weeks, so we will probably take the motor home.
Using our car is faster then disney transportation, so we prefer to drive to the parks. Plus we do go offsite to visit family while we are there, so a car is a necessity for us.
