We are a bit random, however I really like the Hidden Mickey and YOAMD pins. DH collects numbered/dated pins, stitch, and firefighter pins.
I must admit though, I have a REDSOX pin that doesn't fit in the HM selection.

I get pins for the parks I've gone to, the resorts I've stayed at, and the years I've visited if I can. I'll also pick up pins for favorite attractions and any pins that really catch my eye. I also have a pin for all the Disney animated films (traditional and CGI, including Pixar) that I've seen in the theatre. The only one I'm missing is Dinosaur, since I've never been able to find one for it.

I currently have only one lanyard, and my pins are all centered around Princesses, specifically the ivory cameo series that came out several years ago.
This year, I think I'm going to get a second lanyard and make it entirely Alice in Wonderland!

The pins we have so far are (A) rides we've ridden, (B) characters we met, or (C) shows we've seen. Basically, we treat them as souvenirs vs. trading pins.

Bruce's theme is law enforcement pins, you'd be surprised at how many there are. My theme is random, I like it, I buy it. DS Like stitch, Goofy and Donald but his favorite pins are cast member ones, he feels so great when he is able to trade for one.
