There is also the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad where you can take a train ride thru the mountains. It takes a couple of hours but it was very relaxing. It takes you thru tunnels and along the river.

Oh, Man. That bring back memories!

When I got married 20 years ago, my wife and I lived in Ft Campbell, Ky. Her grandma lived in Peterstown, WV. We made the trip a lot.

It is a beautiful part of America.

We used to take our neice to the following:

Rock City - can you make it through Fat Man's Squeeze or look over Lover's Leep?

Raccoon Mountain (the Alpine Slide is awesome- it a half mile cement bob-sled run)
The Incline Railway - I hope you are not afraid of heights

Ruby Falls- ever see an underground waterfall?

I live in and was born right nearby in Knoxville so I've been to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area many, many times. I can't tell you much about condos there to rent - never stayed in one, but I know there are a lot. My favorite hotel is the Clarion Inn Gatlinburg and favorite cabins are at Gatlinburg Falls Resort. Some of my favorite things to do:

    Dollywood
    Dollywood Splash Country
    Ripley's Aquarium
    Ripley's Haunted Adventure
    The Park Grill Gatlinburg
    Cherokee Grill Gatlinburg
    The Peddler Gatlinburg
    The Apple Barn Sevierville
    Minature Golf (everywhere, esp. Ripley's)
    Tanger Outlet Mall
    The Incredible Christmas Place
    The Pancake Pantry
    Flapjack's
    Sugarlands Visitor's Center
Hiking (in the Park in general)
    Ober Gatlinburg (open all year)
Shopping along the Gatlinburg main street
    Dixie Stampede
    Mike
