Jen, I'm so sorry you're feeling lousy... nothing worse than the stomach flu. I hope you're up and about, feeling better soon - I can't wait to read your trip reports!!

Absolutely!! I'd love to be able to find you in October - or maybe recognize you from last time we were there!! My DD (then 7) rode SM for the first time - she was pretty nervous, and when she first got off, we asked her if she'd liked it and she said, "Not so much..." But - by the time we'd made it outside to where G'ma and her sister were waiting, it had become the best ride in the universe, she'd loved it and couldn't wait to go on it again!! Go figure!

Well, I'd like to say I enjoyed it outside, but I was inside our "new" house, stripping wallpaper and painting all day. The kitchen is painted, and looks great - I still have to do the trim - but the bathrooms are only stripped and still need a bit of sanding before I can paint them. I was hoping to have more done today, but projects always seem so much easier BEFORE you start!!

Can I get some of that for while I'm working on the house?? That way, it would seem a bit more fun while I'm working, and my back wouldn't be killing me once I get home!! Of course, not too sure how the rooms would look, but hey - I probably wouldn't care, either!
Thanks, but I had a really rough night last night. Couldn't sleep at all. My throat has really been bothering me today. Don't feel like eating. All I have been doing is drinking ice water. Still have the fever & ear pain. When will it end???? I was hoping to see another update on Christine. Hope she is feeling better than me!
Deb, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling lousy - sending a and some your way. I hope you get a better night's rest tonight and wake up not so sore tomorrow!!
Anybody have any good plans for dinner? I'm too tired to be inspired right now...

Hey, Deb... sorry you're feeling yucky. Remember... the throat bone is connected to the ear bone. Stay ahead of the pain by taking your meds! (Better living through chemistry.)
Someone want to help me write a PowerPoint presentation tonight? I've prepared a million of these things but it's not too often that I have to write one.

Now that would make for an interesting presentation, wouldn't it?
I'm presenting at the hospital as part of an evening about complimentary therapies; the evening forms part of a series called "Surviving Together." My little section is about support groups. The only thing I actually have down pat and am comfortable with at this point is my conclusion: "In the immortal words of Lennon and McCartney, 'I get by with a little help from my friends.'" Just in case you all didn't know it, you're definitely some of the friends who help me get by! Thanks!

If you haven't finished it yet send me a pm and I'll give you a call when I get back from tennis. For my sins I have written lots of Powerpoint presentations and may be able to help you brainstorm. Is that ok?
Alex - what flavour cookies would you like? How about maple syrup and dandelion?

I will!! I will!! (I can't get the keener out of my system Ellen!) -- I'm really good with Organization Structures and Enterprise Risk Models.... Will that help?

You know what ...that sounds all right. My BinL makes his own Maple Syrup (we are Canadian after all!), and they are bound to have some dandelions in a couple of weeks...Should we start a business?

Good morning. I thought I would check in before my dose of pain killers set in.
I am doing okay...probably would be better if I hadn't gotten startled Wednesday late night by a giant thunder clap...I sat STRAIGHT up in bed. That hurts my abs even WITHOUT incisions, but you can imagine how much it hurt with!
I walk around for a while before my pain killers make me lie down. I would probably be fine with just the vicadin, but since they make me sick, I have to take phenegran too, so I sleep for about 6 hours after each dose.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Deb, hope your throat is healing up well! I thought of you Wed. morning! HOpe you weren't too afraid. I was only afraid for a little bit....til the "pre-op cocktail"!
Better go for now.
Did I ask a question?

Me too! Thanks. Now how do I turn it off?
My next door neighbors used to make dandelion salad (for real)

Good luck with your marathon weekend, Ken! As for the flavored ice cream... great idea! How about some margarita sorbet?

Christine, so glad to see you checking in! You did a good job of training DH to post here! Take your meds and sleep... it's the best way for your body to rest and heal! We'll make up a batch of cookies for you (and the guys) for when you wake up.

So what's with all of us on the thread being sick in one way or another? Anyone want to join me in crawling under the covers and boycotting life for a week or two until we all recover a bit?
Sorry I missed all the remodels lately but just let me know when we want to start the next one and I will get the backhoe fired up!
By the way, I could really use some cookies!!

Glad to see you "up" and posting... I hope you're feeling even better by tonight!! (No more thunder!) I wish the Phenergan didn't make you so sleepy... you're posts would probably be pretty funny to try to read after a few Vicadin...

Wow - that was impressive. I'm hoping I'm done painting, for the most part - got the kitchen and the bathrooms finished today, now just for some trim touch up this wknd. Now I get to start the cleaning - yuck - I don't mind housework all that much, but am just when I have to clean up after somebody else's mess. Truthfully, the house is very clean - but I still won't feel good about it until I do the floors and windows and sinks, etc. myself. I'm not a neat-nick - just a clean freak.

Uh huh. You just do like a sculptor--roll the dough out flat and cut away anthing that doesn't look like Stitch or Bre'r Rabbit. See how simple that is?
