Creative Pin Display Ideas

I have been thinking about some creative ways to display pins. I was thinking about using old wooden printers trays. Or some type of shadow box that would be easy to change. My family of four is beginning to collect and it would be nice to put our collections together, yet show each collections as distinct. I don't like the idea of books because you would have to open it rather than just see it. (we don't have lots of pins yet!) I was just wondering what creative ideas others had!

I collect stitch pins and have...umm, a few I went to Michaels and got a prestreched canvas (the kind for painting) then bought some inexpensive fabric and used spray adhesive to cover the canvases and then poked the pins through. Then all you have to do is hang them on the wall like a picture...they can be moved around at any time but they're out and visible.
