Unfortunately discourtesy has become a way of life in America. We kill each other to get to Christmas sales at Walmart. We exhibit road rage when someone may have accidently cut us off. Its a sad...

Totally agree. Just sit outside. We have never felt uncomfortable at FtW. 99.99% of the people there are good family folks. Of course not everyone is and its why vigalence is needed for younger...

Same here BUT once during Christmas season we had to go through the process of getting less than the number of days we wanted and then checking back periodically for cancellations until we eventually...

The only loops that are far away from a bus stop ar in the 1800 and 1900 loops. Like the others have said most loops have a stop at the entrance. You can ask them for a site close to the bus stop...

I read somewhere that the 1900 comfort station was closed for renovations? Is it still closed? If so, any projections when it might reopen?

DS and DW got pins in December.

Our motorhome is nicely insulated and the A/C drowns out any exterior noise. We sleep like a baby. Its when we are outside trying to enjoy a cookout or quiet chat when we wish people would respect...

I surprised DW and DS with the Segway tour this past Christmas Day! THEY LOVED IT! I was too much on the portly side :secret: to go.
Neither of them had ever ridden a Segway. My son...

Each comfort station has 3 standard and 1 handicapped shower stalls on each side (mens and womens) The men's side has a long sink counter with 3 sinks, 2 urinals and 1 regular and 1 handicapped...

This was one of my Christmas gifts for DS and DW during our visit over Christmas 2008. I am over the 250 lb max weight so I had a couple hours on my own and appreciated it. DW had wanted to try it...

Hey Chester NY! We are very close to you hence our name. Sure you can figure out where we live. :secret:
We take the trip down in our RV about twice a year and have been since 2003. We have...

I had read somewhere that they are making some major renovations including the installation of cable hookups at all sites.
We asked for the 1900 loop (like we always do) and wondered if...

We have been looking down the road to Christmas 2009 for a big family gathering. A lot depends on our ability to trade in our smaller Class B and get a new Class A motorhome which are now priced well...

Anyone try the Segway tour in Fort Wilderness? I saw it on another WDW related website and decided it would be a fantastic Christmas gift for my son and wife. :cloud9:
I was so lucky to book it...

Has there been any effect on Disney attendance as a result of the economic downturn? Maybe its too early to tell?

We usually prefer the 1900 loop and request it each time we go. We liked it because it is farther away from the action and tended to be less busy and more quiet. That has changed a bit since the...

I am so happy that Disney has made a commitment to FtW. Its a great campground already, but could definitely use some sprucing up and the upgrades noted in the article should add more icing to the...

We are still committed to getting our Disney fix this Christmas. Our plan is to spend time elaborately decorating our site, doing more BBQing and eating out less to save money. We also...

I am thinking that my wife and I could easily earn enough working part time for WDW to pay our way during a very long stay at FtW. She swears that she would clean the comfort stations if she could...

You know what...NOTHING is going to stop us from going in December!! When we bought our new RV (Class B) we knew gas mileage would be an issue and that gas prices would only rise. It was part of the...

My wife and I have been ready to retire and live there as "Snowbirds" (aka winter settlers) since our first visit in May 2003. Actually we would more accurately have to semi-retire and work part...

Our longest was in summer 2004 in our Class B (van camper) motorhome. We stayed from end of June when school ended until after 4th of July. Altogether it was 14 nights. It was a total blast. Oh by...

I asked about that back in April 07 and was told that they were relocated to Animal Kingdom. The reason? Because they made too much noise early in the morning especially for the guests in the loops...

We just got back. FtW looks "naked". Most of the brush has been removed from around all the campsites which sure does lessen that old sense of privacy. We were in the 1900 loop and on the far side...

MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES ABOUT RULES. :secret:
That being said I am sure there will be plenty of fun stuff to do on your visit to Pioneer Hall. Most of them free such as just simply walking around...
