We always fly SW and I don't know of any way to check seat availability, but even if you book at one price and the price ends up dropping before you go, SW will give you credit to use within a year.

The same thing happened to me with Disney Dining when I called for a reservation for TRex they said they were booked. I called TRex directly and got exactly what I wanted. :mickey:
