I am thinking about flying into Seattle, visiting Puget Sound and then spending a day or two in Victoria British Columbia prior to our Alaskan Cruise to see Butchart Gardens and Craigdarroch Castle. Anyone have any experience there? Opinions?

A great deal. The water is chilly for most :)
It always takes forever to get your checked luggage at seatac. Don't know why, just does.
Even here in Phoenix the water is too chilly for me to swim. :P I'm not a big fan of Seattle airport (or Seattle itself for that matter), but every year for my son's birthday, I would adopt a killer whale for him that was born on the same day he was. I thought it would be cool to go see it. Then I saw the tours to Butchart Gardens and Craigdarroch. They would be so close to use, I figured we may as well go. We might need a vacation after our vacation.
I have been to Victoria quite a few times on cruise ships. The gardens are WONDERFUL and renting a car is very easy there. There is also a very nice museum in Victoria. We always love Seattle for the Market, and we took a fun free walking tour of Seattle last year where I learned a ton (even though I had been there multiple times.)
