Just curious, where did you find the weight of the dumbbells? I have pictures and don't see the weight anywhere. I have also seen pics with 10,000 on each side.
Are you talking about these dumbbells?

I (we) could've made a mistake with this one... the real weight might've actually been 20,000 all together, not just 2,000. Now I'm confused and I'm the asker!
I've actually never seen these dumbbells. That's why I opened with a totally wild guess. I then used Google to try and find the answer and came across another Disney Trivia Quiz where this was one of the questions. The answer given was 2000lbs. However, this may be totally wrong. Disney Connoisseur, what is your source for the answer?
As was I, initially. I do believe I overlooked Zawadi's answer. I think it should've been "Trusty" from "Lady and the Tramp". And because Trusty and Rusty are one additional letter of difference, my brain didn't catch it for whatever reason.
But yeah, "Home on the Range" making it into "Oliver & Company" wouldn't be plausible... unless the character model for Rusty was a generic Disney dog that was re-used? But I am more inclined to believe my initial response above. What do you think?
I just took a look at the whole scene on my copy of the film. Turns out, my hunch was correct. Jock, Trusty and Peg are all in the same frame during Dodger's musical number.
So, Rusty is out. Trusty is in - as the correct answer. Sorry about the confusion on this one, Jim!
So we still have the dumbbell weight debate. I have pictures of me with the weights and no markings. I've seen other pics from Disneyland with yellow weight markings of 10,000 on each The photo from blogspot I think is from Tokyo Disneyland (the sidewalk is different than CA DL).
Maybe I need to take a trip to Disneyland to solve this for the team? :secret:
Having never seen either O&C or H o/t R, I googled the topic and found the answer which I gave. It turned out to be in the same trivia thread that contained the answer that I gave for the dumbbell question and, on looking again, the thread contains most of the questions in this round :)
 very
Upon seeing your post, I too Googled this and it said Rusty as one of the dogs, however this is wrong *or* could be simply a typo on the author's part. As mentioned, last night I viewed the film's "Why Should I Worry?" sequence and the dogs are Pongo, Jock, Peg and Trusty (all of those except Pongo are from Lady and the Tramp). And as Jim added, Home on the Range came out long after Oliver & Company, which would make Rusty's cameo improbable. So, that solves that.
The dumbells from Mickey's Toontown are identical to the ones in the Tokyo park, I vaguely remember commenting on them to my friend on our last trip to DLR. The "weight" is 10,000 on each ball, making up a total of 20,000. Now, I'm not sure if there's another dumbell in Toontown that is confusing us but as far as the ones smashed into the pavement go, 20,000 is the answer. Again, the trivia quiz could've had a typo.
I'll dig out some new questions later, unless anyone has some ready to go. :D
