I think San Antonio is more recent. Suns/Lakers rivalry was going on in the 80s when Magic was still playing.

Very cool about Kramer. I was a huge fan of the Pack and even own stock. However when the Titans came to town my loyalty sided with my home town team. I still like the Pack, and have read Starr's autobiography. I think the two franchises are similar (not in tradition) but in the community feeling each team produces. I run into Titans players at the Mall and around town all the time. Ususally they are very freindly, with a couple of exceptions.

Soccer - Tottenham Hotspur from the English Premier League
NFL- Oakland Raiders
American Football first televised in UK early eighties and chose this team
NBA - San Antonio Spurs
Only because my soccer team are called the Spurs I decided to follow this team.
NHL - New Jersey Devils - Don't really follow Hockey but used this team when playing NHL 93 on my Mega Drive.
MLB - Houston Astros. I married a Houstonian and since I had no allegence to any team and that I've visited Minute Maid Park for a few games I have been following them.
As I've also been to see the Texans & Rockets on a few occasions I have to say that I do now follow these teams though I will always be a Raider.
I am sure all of you guys have rooted for the Saints since the 70's ;), but where did you all come from?
Heck I can't even begrudge you guys the chance to be proud. . Seriously, good luck I hope you do win it all if my team does not.
As a Tennesseean we have another version...
Roll Tide Roll!
Roll down the bowl.
Flush them out and into the sewer.
Roll Tide Roll.
Alas I have little love for the Gators either, except when they play the non SEC!
Whoever wins give um heck in the National Championship.
