LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2012) /PRNewswire/ — Have a passion for planning unforgettable Disney vacations? Know how to organize the ultimate team sports events at Walt Disney World Resort? Disney Parks today announced the 2013 Walt Disney World Moms Panel call for entries, featuring the search for its first-ever Sports Team Moms. The best draft picks for this position will have experience organizing team travel to sporting events at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex while incorporating the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Disney is also seeking bilingual panelists and international travelers to provide valuable expertise for its visitors. Visit www.disneymomspanelsearch2013.com through September 14 to apply.
Kicking off its sixth year, the online trip planning forum’s park-savvy super Disney fans assist guests in creating memorable Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani/Adventures by Disney, Disney Vacation Club and runDisney vacations. Since 2008, millions of visitors have accessed the immense library of questions and answers that have helped our guests plan the perfect Disney vacation. Guests can also access personal tips from both panelists and celebrities alike through the dozens of videos live on the site that cover a wide-range of topics including fun and “insider” tips.
“We are excited to continue the expansion of the Moms Panel this year, adding a new Sports Team Mom specialty and bilingual panelists to our team of Disney vacation planners,” said Leanne Jakubowski, Director, Social Media; Walt Disney World Resort. “This diverse panel of Disney fans has helped countless guests turn their vacation dreams into a reality. Some families return from their trip and respond to the panelists, thanking them for the magical vacation they had a hand in creating. Many of our panelists feel it is an honor to assist travelers from all over the globe in making memories that will last a lifetime.”
“For the past two years I have been blessed with the opportunity to share my love and appreciation for the most ‘Magical Place on Earth’ as a member of the Moms Panel,” said Marisol Lopez, bilingual panelist and Disney Cruise Line specialist. “Disney has provided my family with countless pixie-dusted moments we will never forget. I literally become emotional as I write my answers because I feel as if I am planning a trip for my family for each guest. Fun does not even describe it. It has truly been a life-changing experience for me. I encourage anyone who wants to share their Disney passion to apply. I still have ‘pinch me’ moments and cannot believe I have been given this amazing opportunity.”

Not applying this year, but good luck with it all! My thought is that If you've organized any large group trips to WDW, I wouldn't be deterred by the "sports team mom" tag. Make a case for being a dance team mom, or band mom, or anything that fits the "organized large groups of kids" category.
Definitely counts me out, as I am neither bilingual (unless you count communicating with tweens/teens & animals another language... :D ...) nor a mom who's planned any kind of big event/trip to WDW. :( Oh well...
Question - didn't they used to have a "2 yr limit" to their panelists? And if so, wouldn't that open up the "generalized" category to applicants, as well? Or are they now keeping people longer than that? I can understand wanting to keep panelists that are really connecting with guests and doing a great job, but I thought originally there was a year limit to being on the Panel.
No Dsnygirl, you are not out on this count, the Disney Moms Panel is definitely looking for people who only speak only English too! They are just making a special effort to note that they are looking for bilingual candidates as well.
In like manner, the big trip planning experience is just a "new" specialty that they are looking for, but you might have some other talent that they are seeking this year. You never know ... I was chosen for the Disney Moms Panel despite the fact that I do not have kids - I was just an Aunt! :D
Hope this helps!
If you're at all interested, it wouldn't hurt to apply anyway. They might fill more slots than just the specialty ones they mention.
I jumped and applied before I read! I am not bilingual and I have planned some bigger events and some trips. But I don't think I would be what they are looking for.
Oh how HAPPY I am to hear this!!! I do not have kids either, but we have 10 nieces and nephews (ages range from adult [my niece I'm close to is only 3 years younger than I am!], to 17 months old!) PLUS I have a 4 year old goddaughter! This is my first year applying, and I have no idea if I will make it to the next round, but I sure hope so! I didn't even get to talk about the fact that I'm an aunt to such great kids!
I also should mention, that I am a children's event planner, and party coordinator:party: Not sure that I have what they're looking for, but I do have some experience with planning big events, and of course I LOVE planning Disney trips! :cloud9:
Awesome! You've got me beat in the nieces & nephews department - only have 7! ;)
Best wishes to all the Intercoter's Disney Moms Panel applicants! There have been several who have been selected from Intercot in past years. I'm hoping that tradition continues! :mickey:
Thanks!
Sending :pixie: :pixie: to everyone else who's applied, too... life is so busy around here I keep forgetting I did, and then all of a sudden I remember and it's like :clappy: !!
Hoping we hear early October like usual - only 2 weeks away!!
(has anyone heard if they hit the 14K applicants this year??)
Good luck to everyone who applied. Hope you all get good news. :magic:
According to another board, round two notifications are going out right now. So remember to check your inboxes my Intercot friends! :mickey:
Yes, people over on DisBoards are reporting that they've gotten emails, and Laura Spencer tweeted that there's "Pixie Dust on the way" earlier today... so for all those in the running this year...
Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust!
Got my rejection email yesterday. As I may never get to WDW again this was the last year I was able to apply. How did everyone else do? I hope to see a lot of Intercotee's on the panel this year so good luck to those of you who made it to round 2.
In the world of "It's an honor just to be nomiated"... I'm doing my video upload tonight.
YAHOOOOOOOOOO :mickey:
