Overnight decorations
We are thinking about going to WDW the last week of October next year so we can see the Halloween decorations and go to the Food and Wine Festival...The dates are Oct. 27-Nov. 2... What night do the switch the decorations from Halloween to Christmas? I would love to see that...:mickey:

The holiday decorations begin going up right after the last Halloween party. It doesn't really happen overnight. We left on November 1st of this year and the only Christomas decorations we noticed that were already up (but not lit) were the Osborne Lights but they start putting those up a couple/few months ahead of time.

Oh I thought they did...I watched a time lapse video that showed them taking down Halloween and putting up Christmas when the park closed...I thought that's what happened...
When do they start lighting the castle lights?

They start the transition right after the last party, but as Linda said, it's not a complete overnight change.

Is the last party usually on Halloween or after? This year Halloween is on Thursday...I would love to see Halloween decorations and Christmas in the same week but I'm most looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival...I'm just wishing that I can cram it all in...:mickey:

The last party in 2012 was on November 2nd.

Thank you so much for the information...If I can't see it all then 2 out of 3 won't be so bad!

We arrived on 11/14 last year and there were Halloween lights on display at OKW. The next day they had been changed to Christmas lights. But I don't believe the resort was fully decorated the next day; it occurred gradually through the week. We arrived around the same time this year, but I did not pay as much attention to when the changeover took place. But it did!

We were there at the end of September and late night from CR you could see them testing the Castle lights
