Need Good Flight Simulator for PC

We're looking for a great flight simulator for the PC. We want to be able to see different views, like from the outside looking at the plane for instance. I'm hearing the older Flight Simulator games cannot do that.

Any suggestions?

I don't know much about this topic but I hear X-Plane is a good one. My friend bought it a while ago and still loves it to this day. Can't say much about it first-hand, however. Good luck!
