Well, as the Eagles managed to play themselves out of the playoffs and the Bucs were out of the playoffs after the first game of the season ;) , none of my obvious choices are available. Baltimore is who I will most likely root for, as I work with Joe Flacco's father in law. Definitely rooting against the Cowboys!
Not a Packers fan, but the Packers are going to win it all.
Rooting for the Colts and whoever is playing the Cowboys
Who Dey! Go Bengals!
I would never root for the Cowboys or any team John Elway is involved with.
I'll be pulling for the Lions. I've been a closet Lions fan ever since the Barry Sanders days (he's my favorite player of all time!), so since the Birds are out it's Lions all the way. :D
The Steelers are rolling at just the right time. Seven sounds like a good number.
Well you can now root for them in the first game anyway.
In order from "for" through "against":
1. Broncos
2. Cardinals
3. Lions
4. Colts
5. Bengals
6. Ravens
7. Packers
8. Seahawks
As far as Cowboys, Steelers, and Patriots, my stomach is a little weasy this morning and I don't feel like throwing up so I don't even want to think about them.
And there's really no reason to even consider the Panthers in this.
LOL, agree with you about the Cowboys and Patriots. I am sort of neutral about the Steelers team, though I can't stand Roethlisberger.
Amen to that! As someone who cheers for another team in the NFC South, that division was an embarrassment.
I agree it's embarrassing, and something should be put into place to avoid such occurrences, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't pull for our team. They don't make the rules. I bet all the Seahawks fans still cheered for their 7-9 2010 team. Oh wait...they didn't have fans back then. ;)
Absolutely their fans must pull for them. I just need to see them win a game first (home against a 3rd string QB means they might,) then I'll root for them against Green Bay or Seattle.
I don't want to see them change anything. I'm sick of the NFL constantly tweaking things. One of these years they're going to go too far and will start to lose fans.
Oh, I agree 100%. Of course Panthers fans should cheer their team. The Giants won their last Super Bowl with a regular season record of 9-7. The slate is wiped clean for the playoffs.
Remember, I've been rooting for the Bucs since they were 0-26 to start in the NFL, so I am definitely long suffering. Made me appreciate the Super Bowl win that much more ! Definitely like one of your Aggies, Mike Evans. He was a bright spot in the Bucs season and should get Offensive Rookie of the Year votes, though I think Beckman Jr. will beat him out.
Patriots fan here. That's really all I need to say. Some of you love me anyway, and that's cool. :)
About the only thing more difficult than being a Vikings fan during the playoffs is being a Lions fan. How you guys ever made it through the Matt Millen years is beyond me.
I've been playing Fantasy Football since 1990, Mathew Stafford is on my "do not draft list". I took him high this year and from a fantasy perspective was a royal dud, never again.
As a Minnesotan, I think its imprinted on our birth certificates, we can't cheer for the Cowboys (pass interference non-call and Herschel Walker) plus I could never cheer for any team owned by Jerry Jones. Unfortunately the Boys are hitting their stride at the right time.
Kind of hard to not see one of the top 2 seeds from each conference meeting in the Super Bowl. Dallas might be the only team that can come out of the wild card round and get that 4th game.
GO PANTHERS!
Been a fan since inception in 1995, when I was 15! (I totally just dated myself, didn't I?! ) Been through the ups and downs and although I do NOT agree with some of the management moves they have made in the past few years, I will always back my Cardiac Cats! ;)
If not the Panthers, then definitely would love to see the Broncos and former Panthers coach, John Fox get a Super Bowl ring! ;) He's such a nice guy!
Don't even get me started. The nucleus for the Cowboys 3 rings I think all came from that one trade. I think Aikman and maybe Irvin were already there, but that was about it.
Probably the worst trade in NFL history until Ditka decided to trade away his entire draft picks to get Ricky Williams.
What happened with the Walker trade that no Viking executive thought about was, that each of the players that were sent to Dallas as part of the trade included conditional picks, so that if they ended up not making Dallas' roster, Dallas got a conditional pick instead. J. Johnson had no intent to keep the players, I think maybe only one player sent down remained with Dallas to start the next season, and JJ ended up cashing in all the draft picks.
