Dining Plan? Staying at the DLH.

Hello there,

I am planning to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and it gives me an option on the reservation page to add a dining plan. I haven't used these before, so I am a bit confused on how they operate. We have no children, just 2 adults. We plan to visit the following major restaurants:

- Goofy’s Kitchen
- Plaza Inn - Breakfast with "Minnie & Friends"
- Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue
- Café Orleans
- Blue Bayou
- Carthay Circle Restaurant

We're visiting the parks for 5 days and staying at the hotel for 6 nights. Can anyone recommend what we should do? We're also planning to thrown in a 5-Day Park Hopper pass in with the vacation package.

Lastly, if anyone knows, why am I having problems finding vacation packages for the Disneyland Hotel? I am trying to price it out before-hand and I am not getting any results for 6 nights. I only get off-property suggestions like the Hilton, etc.

DO NOT get the Disneyland dining plan. It's a waste of money. The Disneyland dining plan is different the the one at WDW. At DL you purchase vouchers. You'll use those vouchers to purchase your food. If the voucher is less than what your meal is you need to pay the difference. If it's more than the meal you do not get change. There is no savings with the DL meal plan. Don't bother.

This is always what I've heard as well. Not a deal!

I totally agree. Disneyland's dining plan is a waste of money. Put your money on a Disney gift card if you want to pre pay for your meals. That way the money is already set aside. You will do much better paying out of pocket.
