Does anyone really fax room requests anymore? Do you think results vary if you fax a request, call it in or use online check-in?
We leave for the Poly :tikki: in 2 weeks and I wonder what's best...

im wondering the same thing
I just did it 5 minutes ago. Let's see what happens.
I just called a week ago to make changes to my reservation and asked about room requests. The CM told me that if I use online check-in that there is a place there for room requests. Maybe someone who has used online check-in can confirm.
You can fax a request but remember the resort does not even get your reservation until about 10 days before you get there. Calling is not a good idea because the resort number does not even really go to the resort.
The new online check in does have a place to put a request.
We booked through destinations in Florida and had our room request added to our reservation. I also faxed the request to the resort (POFQ) 4 days before our arrival. I don't know which one worked or if both things helped but we got our request. have a magical vacation1:cloud9:
1) Ressies are downloaded to the resort 4-nights in advance of check-in.
2) The Room Assigners start working on them 3-4 days ahead of time.
3) Based upon how busy, assignments can take to the night before check-in.
4) Faxing no longer does any good.
5) Most resorts have a "put it in File-13" rule.
6) The ROOMS person just has too much to do to be looking at faxes.
7) Besides, many faxes have 2-3 requests, and that takes too much time to arrange.
NOTE: At all resorts, the ROOMS people work three shifts, although the third shift person has other duties, such as collecting payments.
I am having an issue with this. My sister-in-law and I both placed our reservations with Magical Journeys. (POFQ on June 13). We requested connecting rooms.
Today both of us tried to do the online check-in and I was able to get through and she was not. The only "request" I was able to put down was "connecting rooms" but no where could I write to have them connect to my sister-in-law!! I would think they need that info?? Who will I connect w/? a stranger?
now we also wanted to request building #5 but I was not able to put that request on the form. She spoke to Denise from MJ and was going to get that request on her reservation, but what would happen if we are put in different buildings?!?!
Is it possible to back up all this confusion with a fax? and what is the fax #?
Thanks I hope this gets straightened out before we leave!
I always fax my room request and then call to make sure that they have received it. It always works..
Good Luck!!
Yellen97. Nothing to worry about. I had the building #5 request added to your reservation as well and double checked that your reservations were still linked. There is always a chance that your rooms will be separate, since requests are based on availability and can't be certain, but it is on your reservation.
Denise- thanks so much!! It was disconcerting when there was no little box to write comments on the online check-in. Connecting rooms are not that important, but the same building certainly is!!
Thanks again, I am sure it will all work out!!
Yes they do, but it should only be done secondary to actually having them on your reservation.

- Check-in: no place to write in specific requests
- Call in: calling in to the resort will only result in you speaking with a call center rep
- Call in: calling in to your travel agent with a request or Disney travel is the best way
- Fax: perfectly fine for following up on a previously notated request, but can only be done 3-4 days prior to arrival
We've faxed room requests the last couple of times and they've always worked -- maybe just lucky. All at AKL and all within the 2-3 days prior to arrival. Worth a try. :D
