I was going to post this earlier - this looks like fun and it will be atmospherically cool with all of the huge toys around! I know it's more of a family coaster but I think this will allow you to take in your surroundings and not be holding on tightly and screaming the whole time so I kind of like the idea.
Can't wait for all the new additions to Studios.
The new coaster looks fun.
I'm assuming the primary audience is kids 12 and under? The video looked a little "light."
Not much to see there - another mild "family" coaster that little kids can ride, with a dog head at the front. Not that WDW doesn't need rides like this, it's just that it seems the Imagineers are phoning this one in. Probably not their fault, as the bean-counters now have full control of everything.
Disney will hype the heck out of it as the great new attraction at the Studios, and there will be 2 hour waits to ride when it opens. Seems innovation has all but gone from Disney, and is being replaced by the all important bottom line. :pout:
(Just as an aside - I first read the header for this thread as Slinky Dog DEATH Coaster!):funny:
I will say it looks very cute and the younger kids will like it. However, I was really hoping for something more. All the hipe on 7DMR and its a glorified Barnstormer. Was hoping for more from Disney this time. Hoping they put some type of thrill ride in Avatar.
I'm thinking that it looks like a much bigger version of the same tech that they used for 7DMR. Where each car can rock back and forth, and I would bet that it will be *smooth*.
I'll reserve judgement (unlike some on here) until I actually see and experience the ride. It's hard to tell what the experience will actually be like from that concept video.
DHS needs more things for younger kids, so i really don't have a problem with the type of coaster here.
The only issue I could see is maybe the dog's head blocking the view going forward.
A couple notes ...
First off I agree with ChipNDale79 that DHS needs more kid friendly rides and attractions, so while I'm not personally thrilled by this I am excited for my kids. They'll probably like it.
Second, at least from the concept art, this ride looks pretty long (unlike 7DMT). If it's a nice scenic that runs 3 minutes or so in length I think it will be a nice plus to the Studios.
